@AndySaunders_1 Each set of images received seems to surpass the previous ones. Are all the cameras on board digital, in other words will there be any images that we will have to wait till after splashdown to see?

RIP Bill Anders - Jim Lovell once said to me that Apollo 8 was the highlight of his career because it was the first navigation of the ocean between Earth and Moon. I still find the Christmas Eve 1968 broadcast tremendously moving nasa.gov/missions/apoll…

Sad, sad news that Bill Anders has died in a plane crash. One of the first three humans to escape Earth & travel to the Moon & took one of the most famous & important photographs in history, Earthrise. Never shared this 16mm image of him before, feels appropriate today. Ad Astra.

A photograph of @JAXA_en's SLIM lander on the surface of the Moon just in. It shows the lander on its 'head' rather than its side. The photograph was taken by LEV-2; a tiny 8cm robotic ball. LEV-2 sent the image back to Earth via the 'hopper' rover, LEV-1.
