I've been using GitHub for over 10 years. what's been happening over the past weeks is a disaster. is it Microsoft's fault? is it AI? I don't know. What I do know is, software wouldn't be the same without them. All my adult developer life I have spent on this platform: hosting my code, collaborating, finding open source projects that have saved me months of work? The value we got from this platform is immeasurable. I think we owe them some time to sort this out. I honestly want the to land back on their feet and come stronger out of this. Sending warm thoughts to the engineers having to put out all these fires, I hope you get some sleep soon 🫡

Talked to a vibe coder guy on Reddit today about his app. He launched his 9th app this year, but no customers. He says he enjoys building the apps so much because he is using AI and can build so much faster. But when he needs to get users, feel discouraged and does the next best thing, starts another app only to end up in the same place. What should he do ? Keep building until he hits a viral app that markets itself? or just continue with one app for 12 months and spend 9hrs a day marketing it

👇 This broke me... finally. I installed Hermes 3 times before, but never fully committed so far (including a full migration, setting up all creds etc). I have reinstalled and ported @wooolfred to Hermes (not fully, but well enough to get started) and turned off my January era OC gateway. Hermes with GPT 5.5 "feels like" the old Claw, responds fucking fast, self improving, proactive, amazing.... GPT 5.5 is still no Opus but it smells and feels good! I don't understand why, I moved my Claw to Codex runtime, I tried Opus via CLI (BADD), I tried doctor, I tried gateway restarts, I tried all sorts of fixes throughout the last month. Then 1 Hermes install later, things just click? WTF. Shout out to @Teknium and the rest of the @NousResearch crew 👏

No offense to Peter, he’s shipped things I never will and done things I never will. However, this sounds like COPE for building a shit product. Either get better, or fall back and hand off the reins to someone capable of open source greatness, and focus on your job at OpenAI.
