@guns231750083 @DaleStarkA10 Clearly I’m not a military guy. Just rewatched Top Gun Maverick , maybe confused by that. They were hoping to put F-35’s here. But NIMBY types were afraid of the noise. So a different fighter will replace our A-1’s. Gowen is an important part of our community. We need them!

@philmount @DaleStarkA10 Uhm , F-14's were stripped from inventory many years ago. None flying left and only a few examples in museums.

I'm heartbroken by the news of the passing of Mayor Rick Hogaboam. As the Canyon County Clerk, Rick and I worked closely together. Beyond just doing our jobs, we shared a love for voting, elections, and politics.

Nampa Mayor Rick Hogaboam dies after medical emergency. This is just astonishing, terrible news. Just a really bright guy only a few months into his first term as mayor. I had lunch with him in January at the Lt Governor’s luncheon. Such a shock! idahonews.com/news/local/nam…

@philmount I picked up a sealed OG club copy last year. Very nice.

ZZ Top, Eliminator Blues-rock set to synth and pounding drums, this album had four Top 40 hits, and was ubiquitous on radio and MTV after its 1983 release. This album sold over 11 million copies and redefined Southern Rock in the ‘80’s. My OG 1983 vinyl.

Bruce Hornsby And The Range, The Way It Is I’ve forgotten how beautifully produced this album is, & how many songs charted on this debut album. Every Little Kiss & Mandolin Rain plus the title track all got tremendous radio play in the day. My OG 1986 LP original cover.

@Surovmag Love this album! I have it on CD. It was hard to find in the US. Beautiful South never were on the charts here, so no radio play.

@philmount I searched in vain for an original Mushroom pressing but decades passed with no luck. I got this 5 years ago on Discogs fairly cheap , the remix is much better but this is interesting.

Heart, Magazine Contractually obligated to deliver a 2nd LP to Mushroom Records, a previous release of this was technically before Little Queen. This is a remixed version released in 1978. This, LQ, & their debut were all on the charts simultaneously. My OG 1978 LP.

@SomeGuyTyping That’s a find! My understanding was not many copies were made before the courts obliged the band to return to the studio to make the remix.

@philmount I have both the original and remix versions plus a pair of picture discs (which are remix). The original is a German pressing on Arista.

Steve Miller Band, Book Of Dreams Almost a greatest hits album by itself, this 1977 release was a huge hit, reaching top 10 in four countries & #2 in the US, with 3 singles including Jet Airliner & Jungle Love. This is a terrific sound system demo LP! My OG 1977 pressing.

Today was a big day. After over two years in Command, I handed off the Guidon. For the last 25 months, I’ve commanded the Army instructors that create the next generation of EOD Soldiers, as well as all of the Army Officer students going through training. I further doubled as a BN HQ Company Commander. Trust me when I tell you the kids will be ok. The next generation of EOD Soldiers are humble and ready to get to work. They are capable and hungry. I’m incredibly proud of the students, instructors, and staff I had the privilege to interact with daily. I would not have been successful without them.

Whitney Houston, eponymous File this under albums I forgot I had. Whitney’s debut album from 1985 that had 3 #1 singles, including How Will I Know. Executive producer is Clive Davis, and it’s everything you want from 80’s pop music. A voice for the ages, lost much too soon.

@Wade00612217998 I came of age in the late ‘70’s and love most stuff found on the radio then. Biased towards prog rock, Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons. But loved Eagles, Dire Straits, Phil Collins, Fleetwood Mac, etc. Not a metal fan, Sabbath, etc.

Heart, Bebe Le Strange Released in 1980 as a follow up to Dog & Butterfly, its Heart’s fifth album and first without founding member Roger Fisher on lead guitar. “Even It Up” was the biggest single, and the album made it to #5 in the US charts. This is my OG 1980 vinyl.
