@BrianZahnd As a former Marine I cringe because I used to believe this. It’s only through Jesus slowly redeeming my heart that I finally see the seductive falsehoods in stuff like this. Thanks to you, Brian, and your book A Farewell to Mars for helping me begin sorting through this.

I enlisted to serve my country. They called Muslims “sand n**gers”, “Hajis” and “Joe sh*t the ragman”. They told us “we gotta fight them over there or we will have to fight them over here”, “they don’t value human life like we do”, and “they hate us because we are free”. These were all lies. Dehumanizing propaganda designed to make it more palatable for the public to have our troops kill people by the thousands. I saw my fellow service members die and maimed and kill innocents for these lies. I saw friends lose part of their soul when they took lives. I saw people haunted by screams. I saw veterans kill themselves over the anguish of what they had seen and done. 22 veteran suicides a day for decades. I saw our country’s international reputation destroyed and a trillion dollars wasted for these lies. I’m still angry about it all these years later. This is why I have no tolerance for the same lies being pushed by the same people for another iteration of the same stupidity. These wars of aggression do not serve our country. I am anti war to the core. You will never change me on this.

@WeTheBrandon The longer this administration waits to release official numbers, the greater the shock it’s going to be to the American people.

Who knows at this rate if it's true. But we do know that the hits to US facilities throughout the region have been extreme. And Dover is surging staff. It might simply be anticipatory (worst-case scenario). Then again, it wouldn't be the first time our gov lied about casualties.

Iran Armed Forces claims 220+ US CASUALTIES in past 24 hours — '21 killed and many wounded from US Fifth Fleet' — 'Around 200 killed or wounded at Al Dhafra Air Base' — 'US-owned oil tanker TARGETED in northern Persian Gulf'

President of Israel proudly announcing the crime against humanity underway in one of the world's oldest cities: “A tornado storm is passing over Tehran. Symbols of the regime are being bombed and collapsing — starting with the state broadcasting authority, and soon other targets as well, while masses of residents are fleeing. This is how dictatorships collapse.”

🚨REPORT | Israel’s “Tornado plan” to “destroy Tehran”: Defense Minister Katz describes strategy for strikes in “high-visibility” civilian areas In a March 1 post on X, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz openly referenced a strategy involving strikes on “high-visibility” targets in civilian areas of Tehran, shedding light on the logic behind Israel’s recent attacks in the Iranian capital. Katz wrote that Israeli warplanes were operating “stand-in above the skies of Tehran” during Operation Roaring Lion and that “an uninterrupted airlift will operate for the powerful strike on Tornado targets in Tehran,” under a plan approved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He described the attacks as targeting “regime and repression targets in the heart of Tehran.” Israeli military correspondent Doron Kadosh previously reported that internal planning documents outlined a “Tornado Plan” approved on May 29 that called for attacking “a concentration of targets with ‘high visibility’ in a civilian environment in the heart of Tehran.” The plan was described as “a tool of response to heavy Iranian fire directed at Israeli population centers,” rooted in a logic of deterrence and intended in part to help bring the campaign to an end. During earlier fighting on June 18, 2025, Katz used similar language to describe strikes in the Iranian capital: “A tornado storm is passing over Tehran. Symbols of the regime are being bombed and collapsing — starting with the state broadcasting authority, and soon other targets as well, while masses of residents are fleeing. This is how dictatorships collapse.”

@WhiteHouse Treating war like a video game and celebrating death and destruction. I’d expect this kind of propaganda from North Korea, not from the official account of the White House. What a disgrace.

Dear Christians, please do not listen to any Christian leader celebrating the bombing of Iran. The Christ of the Gospels does not bless war, empire, or violence wrapped in patriotic language.

Thank you President @realDonaldTrump for giving the Iranian people a chance to be free. Pray for him and for all those in our military who are risking their lives to protect America and bring freedom to the Iranian people. This regime has been killing Americans for years, and we haven’t had a president who had the guts to take them on. Thank you Mr. President for standing up to bring this evil empire to an end.

NEWS Last night on Capitol Hill, the senior Trump political command briefed its core team on the midterms. Some of what occurred was previously reported on by @SophiaCai99 of @politico. Here is a more detailed account, according to one of the attendees at the meeting at the Capitol Hill Club. The group was served a chicken and steak buffet. The program went for almost two hours, starting at 530pm. This was a veteran group, not panicked or shaken. Just focused on the work and the task at hand. There were about 75-100 people in the room. Many cabinet members were there, including Scott Bessent, Howard Lutnick, RFK, Sean Duffy, along with their most senior aides. The meeting was hosted by Susie Wiles, who spoke briefly. The pollster and strategist Tony Fabrizio presented with about 25 slides on the data on what voters care about — the demographics, the issues, what messages resonate and what do not. The economy will be THE issue in the election, he said. Messages that break through: Banning stock trading for Congress, transparency on health insurance data (including on pricing and claims reimbursement), lowering prescription drug costs, the Trump tax cuts. Housing affordability is a huge issue for voters, especially young people. Taking credit for closing the border does not resonate much. Men, moderates, true independents, and Hispanic voters are the true persuadable voters. His message was not pessimistic. He made recommendations to spend time on podcasts and social media more than national news interviews. Paid media should go on targeted media, not broadcast or even cable. Facebook is still king for voters, then Instagram and TikTok. There are currently 6 targeted House races and 7 key Senate races. The only way Republicans will lose the Senate majority is if Democrats take 50 House seats. Then political czar James Blair spoke and presented the historical data of how rare it is for a president’s party to not lose a lot of seats in a midterm. Tennessee 7 special was going to be lost before a huge push for Election Day, from which they have taken lessons about messaging and grassroots. Trying to argue about wages being up will not help; voters have to feel it, he said. He acknowledged that Donald Trump will do what he wants to do, say what he wants to say, not be data driven. Everyone else has to stay on message and be driven by the data. In effect, two separate but related campaigns. They expect Democrats will run in large part on the “Stop Trump” message.
