@philosophequeer i think it has some useful advice in it it’s just suuuch a crazy mixed bag. i’m very new to poly resources and am planning to read a few poly books to potentially pitch an essay in future, i’ll let you know if any are particularly good

@uncanny_eli but as you say, not because it doesn’t make sense. it makes complete sense, it’s what i assumed must be happening in some way, so to bear witness to it is both shocking and completely unsurprising, if that makes sense (i think that’s also your point)

@uncanny_eli oh yeah i do agree. i think what’s really hit heavy for me is the kind of, mutual complicity of it all. you can see that these gestures are trying to bind you to them, to coerce you into complicity with their violence, even by silence. living that has been really eye-opening

@uncanny_eli i’m often told that i read as a straight guy so idk if that plays into it, but men who i have never met will now come up to me and say incredibly misogynistic and violent shit right off the bat. and this isn’t a one-off, it’s really fuckin regular

The thing about transphobia is I actually hate talking about it. It fills my soul with a sense of utter despair. I'd much rather argue about football nonsense. But the world keeps being like this.

So my girlfriend, who transitioned 18 years ago and was discharged from specialist services, has just had a phone call from her GP telling her that due to changing government policy, she will no longer be prescribed HRT as she's not currently being seen by a GIC.

It's really funny how America and the UK stopped investing in infrastructure in the 1980s because the free market will pave potholes and make the trains run on time and now literally nothing works and you cannot go anywhere or do anything but like 4 people are richer than God.
