everything i said was true 1. he literally overcomes every self-imposed problem almost instantly, and even the small amount of ground he does gain is framed as a W. 2. he literally does not explain or go into his love of ping pong at any point. the movie isn’t even about ping pong, and he only cares about the sport insofar as it allows him to inflate his ego and gain power. if you’re buying the narrative that the movie is a narcissistic cautionary tale, you’d know this. 3. yeah, the paltrow romance didn’t add that much to the storyline, i’m sorry. except the fact that he basically SAs her for a cheap pussy eating visual, which is glossed over instantly.
