𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲: 🔸Currently Prime = 10.25% 🔸My home loan = 11.25% ❌Instead of being quoted Prime +1 (11.25%) ✅You’d be quoted with the replacement rate, which is: 𝗦𝗣𝗥 + 𝟰.𝟱𝟬%. (𝟭𝟭.𝟮𝟱%) 𝗪𝗵𝘆? The aim of the adoption of the SARB Policy Rate (SPR) is to enhance transparency as banks would need to disclose the spread they charge above the SPR.
