the last 2 version of OpenClaw are not working for me. Agent chat has degraded significantly, and I finally found the culprit. context overflow happens because of excessive tool use, and then openclaw re-injects the last message you sent back to the agent. That's why the agent responds to the same thing over and over. I was having this excessive tool use problem back in March when I was last heavily using OpenClaw ... but it was giving me noisy errors ... now it just silently degrades and fails. The root cause of the problem didn't get fixed ... excessive tool use polluting the session and causing context overflow. The failure mode just changed from a warning message to off-by-1 chat degradation.

Where Photo diverges from other always-on agents (OpenClaw, Hermes Agent…): - They're blind, we see. They operate on text, terminal output, function returns, code. Great inside a CLI, useless the moment the work lives in a UI, a Photoshop window, a PDF, a canvas, a site that renders client-side. Photo starts every step from a real picture of your screen, so any app is in scope. - Photographic memory. They keep a transcript of past calls. We keep every frame the agent ever looked at, tagged with EXIF metadata (window, URL, focus, OCR text), losslessly compressed to ~40 KB. The agent can re-read what was on screen 10,000 actions ago in milliseconds. - Self-written skills. Most always-on agents ship a fixed toolbelt or make you bring your own. Photo writes its own skill the first time it solves something on your machine, then reuses it forever. Gets faster the more you use it. - Local-first. Cloud or local model, your call. Frames never leave your disk. Real installed app on Windows and macOS, not a hosted runtime.

Hey everyone, @photoagents is live! The name is literal, every action the agent takes starts with a photo of your screen but not a heavy PNG. Each capture is a lightweight, metadata-rich image: EXIF-style tags for what's on screen, where the cursor is, which window has focus, the active app, the timestamp, the OCR pass, the DOM snapshot if it's a browser. All baked into one file, compressed, sitting on your disk. The result: an agent with actual photographic memory. It can scroll back to "what did I look at on Tuesday at 3pm" and read it as fast as opening a thumbnail. 24h free, no card → photo-agents.com Repo: github.com/jmerelnyc/Phot… Pip: pypi.org/project/photoa…
