@NCC_CCN Please limit this to weekends moving forward. It turned Cartier and Elgin into a pain, all work vehicles had to back out of the side streets to leave, people were driving to the neighbourhood and clogging up parking to use it. It added 10-15 minutes just to get out to Elgin.

@NCC_CCN @MarkoMiljus613 Commuter corridors weren’t needed in 1927 when the population of Ottawa was just over 100,000. The QED is certainly needed for some traffic flow since from Catherine to Laurier, Cartier and Elgin are now overly congested and there are lineups to get onto Elgin for most of the day

@photovanbeek @MarkoMiljus613 Hi there! The Queen Elizabeth Driveway is one of the Capital’s scenic parkways, which were never intended to be commuter corridors. This is also why we prohibit commercial vehicles on our parkways.

Whenever anyone tells you that people aren't using the QED, just know that they're misinformed. Video is of a random Tuesday evening. I pass by here almost every day of the week. People LOVE this, they're just too busy enjoying themselves to be posting about it online @NCC_CCN 🧵

@what_now_613 @NCC_CCN I can find pictures of literally any street in this city at some point in the day and see them being empty. Are we ripping up all of those? What a terrible argument. And no, it doesn't "create" any of those things. Your car does, nice try to shift the blame though.

@MarkoMiljus613 @NCC_CCN 2pm. Where is everyone? Most folks agree. This is a nice bubble. But most folks also understand that the traffic didn't evaporate. Closing the QED creates aggressive traffic, pollution and lowers quality of life for folks in surrounding streets and neighborhoods.

@MarkoMiljus613 @NCC_CCN I live beside the QED and yes of course it’s great when roads are closed and people are out. Unfortunately, the neighbourhood around there is stuffed with traffic and you can barely get onto or across Elgin when you need to. It’s annoying to walk in the neighbourhood as a result

@mchkzn That’s some strange logic. I can relate since on my street, where there is usually some parking available, people park on the wrong side of the street, facing the wrong way, in a no stopping zone, so they can make phone calls and read their texts. Stupid home owners!

Bylaw driving around like a bunch of predators because the entitled rich people who live in this area don’t want cars parked outside of their million dollar homes.

@siobhanwanders Since school started, there has been an 80% cancellation rate of the exact bus needed to get to school on time. The next one is always 30 minutes later when there is supposed to be one every 12 minutes. #14 Rideau.

Why do the buses in #Ottawa never come? It’s so exhausting and this is why I avoid transit when I can. It should not be faster to walk 45 minutes than to take a 20 minute bus. It’s impossible to run a quick errand by transit in this city because the buses don’t show up.

@LindaMathies @MarkSutcliffe @ParkwaysPeople I’m an active cyclist and walker and live along the portion of the QED that is used for active use. It sends all that traffic into the neighbourhood so I honestly see very little benefit to closing it down.

Today I met Judy of #ottawalkers. Like cyclists, they’re furious with @MarkSutcliffe ‘s irresponsible comments re QED. Holding the mayorship means taking the reigns n leading us off the brink. Caving to car bullying will not solve #ClimateCrisis #bytownwalkers @ParkwaysPeople

@spaldingbarker I just read your Mavic 3 Pro article and wonder if you know this; for the Integra Goggles and Mavic 3, do they work with the regular RC or only the Motion Controller.

@CCN_NCC I was just below Parliament at the bottom of the canal locks. It has been fenced off making everything between the canal and the Portage Bridge closed off. Is there any additional information on this? We seem to be losing a lot of paths over the couple of years.
