@instablog9ja This $602m on US vehicles in just five months shows how heavily we still lean on imports. Local assembly needs real scale and support if we want to keep more of that money circulating here. Curious who the main buyers are in this economy.

@Foxyblueu @instablog9ja Qatar imported over $70b worth of foreign cars and their currency is the strongest. Even the USA imports over $300b worth of cars . Nigeria importing only $900m for a country of 200m people shows that Nigeria is extremely poor

@instablog9ja In Nigeria, 80% of workers can't afford rent so they live in the outskirts of the city. Once you have money to pay over 40% of estates are empty.

@Mzs142403479671 @instablog9ja Nope. In Nigeria, 40% of the estates are empty. This is because 80% of the population can't afford it. The vast majority of workers in the capital city stay in ghettos at the outskirts of the city. Once you have cash, hundreds of vacant estates are available.

@instablog9ja Because in Nigeria the landlord’s “paperwork” is just a smile and a handshake, while in the UK it’s a PhD in bureaucracy.

@instablog9ja This is because 80% of people living in Lagos cannot afford a decent rent. 40% of the estates in Abuja are empty and majority of the workers can't afford to rent it. Nigeria has 25m homeless people who can't afford rent

@AA39036311 @bsarwary Useless terrorist, when the US was administering Afghanistan, there were jobs, surplus food, factories, cenemas, the US built 2,000 schools, hospitals created the civil servant, paid salaries. When your Islamist boys took over, they burnt down the infrastructure.

@elonmusk You should offer a stock incentive for workers to have children. Match the $1000 in the new trump account with shares in SpaceX/tesla for every child born after the policy.

@_pistism @elonmusk You forgot that China is 10 times the size of Nigeria and their economy grew by 800% in 30 years lifting 700m people out of poverty. They achieved this by freezing their population. Nigeria for the past 20 years, our revenue have been stagnated and our population is exploding.

China is 1.4Billion, let’s always remember this. Large and growing population is not a problem, the problem is poor management of resources. Nigeria has more than what it takes to cater for 600 million population, meanwhile the entire population is less than 250m. The amount of money looted by one of Nigerian past leader way back in 1998, are still being recovered in millions of dollars till date. If the resources is are been managed properly, Nigeria will be the pride of the world.

@hilkrest1 @elonmusk Over population is never an advantage. A country with 5 million out of school children and 25 million homeless people exploding in population on a stagnated oil revenue.

A growing population should be one of Nigeria's biggest strengths. Unfortunately, bad leadership, unemployment, poor education, and economic challenges have made it harder to turn that potential into real progress. The numbers are impressive, but what we do with them matters even more.

@elonmusk Unfortunately, although not entirely the reason, their economics are such that most women their cannot afford birth control, and don't have access to free birth control.
