Harry Truman once said: “The only thing new in the world is the history you do not know.” Fellow Kenyans, our crisis did not begin yesterday. The looting. The illegal debt. The betrayal of the Constitution. The collapse of public services. The silence of career politicians. These are old scripts repeated by leaders who believe Kenyans forget quickly. They believe another scandal will trend. Another distraction will come. Another funeral, another handshake, another coalition, another slogan. Meanwhile, you pay more taxes for debts you never approved and never benefited from. Between 2014 and 2024, Kenya borrowed Sh9.11 trillion. Only Sh2.57 trillion received proper parliamentary approval. The remaining Sh6.54 trillion is odious debt, unconstitutional borrowing forced onto the backs of struggling citizens. This is why food prices rise while wages stagnate. This is why hospitals lack medicine while billions disappear. This is why schools decline while politicians grow richer. This is why young people graduate into hopelessness. And while Kenya bleeds, legacy politicians remain silent. Many are not fighting to fix the system. They are fighting to inherit it. They criminalize protesters. They weaponize police. They reward political loyalists with advisory jobs funded by taxpayers. They protect corruption networks while ordinary Kenyans suffer. We go to court because the Constitution is the last line of defense between the people and organized state plunder. From the struggle for independence in 1963, to Saba Saba, to the 2010 Constitution, every generation of Kenyans has been called to defend freedom against greed and impunity. History is watching us now. If we remain silent while our country is looted, future generations will remember us as the people who watched Kenya collapse and did nothing. Read history. Defend the Constitution. Reject fear. Reject silence. Reject thieves disguised as leaders. We must be a nation that reads, remembers, and refuses to be misled by the same old tricks. Know your history, defend your rights, and let us not be "newly" surprised by what we should have already learned. Kenya istahili heshima #OdiousDebt #ReKe #Constitutionalism

@OCTOPIZZO Unless there is transfer of technology ( which has never happened) then investment into nuclear is like shackling your own feet for a slave master. We must have control over our energy sources

We refuse to be silent while decisions that could endanger our land, our health, and our children’s future are made without us. Reports of a proposed nuclear plant in Siaya County which had already been rejected by the community expose a dangerous pattern of leadership that listens to consultants and contractors more than it listens to citizens. Nuclear projects are not ordinary infrastructure they carry risks that last decades, even centuries. Why are leaders willing to gamble with western Kenya’s environment and livelihoods? Why is public participation treated as a checkbox instead of a right? We call on the Government of Kenya, county officials, and energy agencies to immediately suspend any nuclear planning in Siaya. No consultations, no construction, no commitments until communities are fully informed, independent experts are heard, and residents give genuine consent. Did you see what happened in Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant? @StateHouseKenya @citizentvkenya @Kenyans @OpiyoWandayi
NTV Kenya@ntvkenya

After Kilifi residents rejected govt's plan to build a nuclear plant in Uyombo, govt has switched sites and is taking the plant to Siaya. Nuclear plants are not child's play, the health concerns alone require serious undertaking. @jamessmat's hot button on #TheLastWordNTV

NEW: “CITES CoP20 is underway in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, and conversations inside the meeting are taking a dramatic turn. While official documents do not yet reflect it, delegates present at the session say there is growing controversy around Vantara, the private wildlife facility owned by the Ambani family. Multiple investigative reports have already raised concerns about Vantara’s acquisition of endangered species through opaque routes, and now delegates at the conference are reporting heavy lobbying to block or dilute recommendations seeking to suspend further live wildlife imports to India. According to sources attending the meeting, an internal recommendation that would have tightened rules on India’s importation of certain endangered species was effectively reversed during discussions. Countries such as India, the United States, Japan and Brazil argued that the measures were premature and claimed there was insufficient evidence of illegal imports into India. At the same time, the source says members of the Vantara-linked delegation were pressuring smaller countries not to support stronger controls. What is particularly surprising, according to information from inside the room, is that the Kenyan delegation did not oppose Vantara’s position, despite Kenya’s long-standing global reputation for strict wildlife protection. Its alleged this stance is linked to political ties between President Ruto and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, although this has not been confirmed publicly. There are also emerging claims that India intends to source cheetahs from Kenya. Under CITES guidelines and endangered species best practice, such a transfer would face significant legal and ethical constraints. This claim has not yet appeared in the official documentation and remains part of the developing picture inside the conference. For now, the official record remains limited, but the situation is fluid. What is clear is that CoP20 has become a battleground between conservation science, state interests and the growing power of private mega-zoological facilities. As more information comes out, especially from delegates on the ground, the world may soon gain a clearer view of the scale of the controversy.”

The idea to build 50mega dams & 200 small to medium dams sounds a lot like what Ayatollah did in Iran. It backfired in a deadly way & Iran is now importing drinking water. With climate change Kenya needs to first research before making such commitments. #ProtectKEaquifers" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">youtu.be/q5gX680sjTs?si…

Five human rights defenders and two journalists have been arrested in Marereni near Malindi for demanding that police officers manning a road block remove their balaclavas. The activists had a copy of a court order which ruled that officers in public spaces should be in uniform and not to cover their faces. They have been arrested and taken to Malindi police station. The arrested are: - Khelef Khalifa - Mathias Shipeta - Salma Hemed - Francis Auma - Atrash Bwana - Roba (Citizen tv) - Brian (Star newspaper) We demand their immediate and unconditional release.

ARE KENYAN GOVERNMENT AGENTS SPYING? 🤔 Surveillance can be used to track activists, journalists, or political dissidents to silence them, or trail them before an abduction, with some turning up dead. @tom_mukhwana explores how state surveillance targets activists and is linked to abductions and arrests in Kenya and East Africa on #InvisibleEyes.
