@ChrisMurphyCT here is an idea just create a US Navy and Coalition forces established single mandatory 2-mile wide transit lane through the strait. By shrinking the defensive area from the entire Persian Gulf to a 2-mile wide lane, the US Navy can concentrate every radar, sonar, and Phalanx gun on a tiny "kill box. Then use Electronic Warfare (EW) BLANKET the entire transit turn on your massive jammers that flood the drone control frequencies, crashing the drones into the sea. And then the US deploys a continuous line of unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) and Mine Countermeasure (MCM) ships to sweep this specific lane 24/7. Any Iranian naval vessel found outside of its own ports (beyond the 12-mile limit) is treated as a hostile combatant and destroyed immediately. - This confines the Iranian Navy to port. If they come out to lay mines, they are sunk before they reach the deep water. And Any surface vessel, submarine, drone, or aircraft entering this 2-mile "Tube" without an encrypted transponder code is immediately engaged and destroyed. No warnings. No visual identification. And the US deploys high-energy laser weapons (HEL) on ships, which fire for pennies per shot, melting the drones out of the sky.

Canada still has massive oil leverage in the U.S. even if the U.S. controls Venezuela’s oil. Canada is an oil supplier but it also has a system dependency: pipelines, refineries, reliability, scale, etc. Venezuela isn’t as simple as a light switch. Even with U.S. control, rebuilding the output & reliability is a multiple years-long grind and very capital heavy. The shift isn’t Canada replaced but rather the U.S. gets another option value which changes negotiating posture over time. Canada’s future is recognizing U.S. demand is permanent. Build optionality: tidewater, permitting speed, stable price policy.

High Canada Post rates are obstacles for Cdn businesses and consumers. Often postage costs more than the product. Addressing this should be part of your strategy to open up internal commerce.
