melanesians don't have alot of visibility on mainstream media but it was so nice to read these women speak on their experiences. i found myself relating to some of their stories and also nauseous for the racism from ignorant people😤 allure.com/story/melanesi…

Oceania is treated as a playground for nuclear weapons testing & dumping-ground for nuclear waste. The decision to release radioactive water into the Pacific is the latest in a longstanding calculus to sink Pasifika nations, while smugly praising them as climate action leaders.

It was honour to welcome West Papua's independence leader and Chairman of the United Liberation Movement for West Papua @BennyWenda and his team to FWCC today. We must all make a stand to #FreeWestPapua. No one is free until we are all free.

Berkeley just announced that it’s pursuing an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-serving destination because 40% of students are AAPI. Given that 0.0016% of students are Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander, the PI in AAPI is doing a lot of work here.

Lalago is a type of fishing that has been practiced for centuries in Guam, where people use their hands to catch fish such as gådao (grouper) or pulonon (triggerfish) in the reef and shallows. The Spanish note this was one of the primary ways that ancient CHamoru women fished.
