@Uber fraud! This is supposed to have been a red Swift, Premier category. It turned out to be a dirty, noisy jalopy that should be consigned to the junk heap -- with the driver! Fraud by Kolkata Uber!

@kmc_kolkata @KPCentralDiv @timesofindia @ttindia the Brits called us Calcutta, the Left made it Kolkata, and now, should we call it Hawkerpalli? OK, hawkers certainly have rights but are these rights unlimited?! Should we make a mockery of our taxpayers, courts, and Police?

@kmc_kolkata @KPCentralDiv @timesofindia @ttindia the Brits called us Calcutta, the Left made it Kolkata, now, in the fitness of things, we should call it Hawkerpalli. Seriously, hawkers have rights but unlimited?! Let's not make a mockery of our taxpayers, courts and police

@KPTrafficDept @timesofindia @ttindia @MyAnandaBazar Why do we still have to suffer air horns? Buses scream as if their innards were on fire. We have laws, we have evidence: noise hurts not only hearing children's learning, also cardiac health. Don't the Police give a hoot!

Do you remember where you were when the news came on October 31, 1984, that Indira Gandhi had been assassinated? I remember going for a haircut and listening to it on radio in the barber shop. For my generation, Indira Gandhi’s tragic assassination will always be a seminal event. She was such a dominant political figure that she was deeply ingrained in the consciousness of every Indian. No leader in that sense has quite had the same recall value pan-India. 🙏
Sagarika Ghose@sagarikaghose

‘She greeted him as she always did. “Namaste.” In response Beant Singh raised his revolver. And aimed. Five shots came at her at point blank range.’ Indira Gandhi was the embodiment of fierce courage and undying patriotism. From my book- now in its 7th edition-Indira, India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister. #IndiraGandhi

@kmc_kolkata These people, and the ones I. solid Waste Management, are the real heroes. When you look at our behaviour with respect to how we use public spaces (including throwing trash) it's amazing that the city functions as well as it does. They deserve our thanks and our applause.

So the #kumbhmela stampede was ‘criminal’, because it was at a Hindu festival, but #karur stampede is just an ‘unfortunate accident’ because it happened in JOSEPH Vijay’s rally?

The growing relevance of traditional medicine - The Hindu share.google/VG2y5ogB1J0VZz… @TheHindu @mpprataprao this is a scary example of how our miniters' ability to blow hot air. The title promises "relevance" and the content is anything but that. Important issue, amateur handling.

@hvgoenka Praise of Narendra Modi may be made for reasons other than truth, but the fact remains that during his tenure optics and cult culture have increased, as have inequality and cronyism. India's increased voice in the world is a reflection of godimedia and is a figment of imagination

Why I respect PM Modi so much: 1. Rose from humble beginnings to the highest office 2. Works tirelessly, often 18+ hours a day 3. Gave India a global voice 4. Made self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat) a movement 5. Instilled confidence in a billion Indians that our time has come 6. Even critics admit that his policies may be debated, but not his passion or resolve.

I feel sorry for a Chief Minister whose words has lost all credibility and whose actions has made a mockery of the chair of the Chief Minister. There have been so many embarrassing instances . For example I remember he said that he saw Rahul Gandhi’s “body double” during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. 🫢 The latest flop show is even bigger than the “RG body double”. People of Assam deserve better. People of Assam will get better. In 2026.

The SC’s directive to remove all stray dogs from Delhi-NCR is a step back from decades of humane, science-backed policy. These voiceless souls are not “problems” to be erased. Shelters, sterilisation, vaccination & community care can keep streets safe - without cruelty. Blanket removals are cruel, shortsighted, and strip us of compassion. We can ensure public safety and animal welfare go hand in hand.
