I think two lessons from LIV will be ... 1. You can't solve time problems with money. It took 40 years of playing the Masters before people *really* started to care. You can't speed that up by signing big checks. You can't microwave history. 2. A modicum of humility goes a long way. Thumping your chest out of the gate and saying "we're gonna redefine a 200-year-old sport over the next few seasons" is not a good strategy. It might eventually be true (spoiler: it wasn't), but it does the opposite of what it probably feels like it's going to do. Most fans are smart, and immense hubris is rarely attractive in any business setting.

The 'O Canada' moment last night in the arena was incredible. Being close to the ice, I was scanning players faces looking for a reaction but didn't find one. I wanted to join in, but I had no voice! (which is still true, ugh)

My own break 100 90 80 around the green 🧵 Break 100 -Use putter whenever possible. 56 degree if not. -For the bump and run with 56 Feet together. Feet about 1ft from the ball. Hands ahead of the ball and feel like it’s the body doing all the work. No hands no wrist. -Don’t worry about getting it super close. Focus on good contact. (For good contact hands have to stay ahead and head to stay tall)

Begging folks coming from out of town to watch playoff hockey to get actual good wings in the City… 1. Adolf’s: walking distance to arena 2. Beltline Brewing 3. McCormick’s Anchorbar is fine, I get it. It’s touristy. But it’s sooooo far down the Buffalo wing hierarchy. Also, don’t let people tell you Gabe’s Gate is good either.

Everything The Masters does is pure class. Everything. That includes the content they create and make widely available. They keep making this week one of the best sports weeks of the year for me. Brava.

After Asterisk Talley's crushing defeat at @anwagolf, Bryson DeChambeau – the fellow NorCal product whom she's known for over a decade going back to the days when they shared a swing coach – pulled the teary-eyed teen aside and, face to face, delivered an emotional pep talk. DeChambeau later recalled some of what he said to @RyanLavnerGC: “From the losses you learn the most – that’s pretty much what I told her. She’s going to be fine. She’s going to be one of the best players in the world one day. And she knows it. I told her the most important thing is how you handle yourself and how you showcase yourself to inspire others.”

Last night, the @PGATOUR premiered the pilot episode of 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, an inside-the-ropes look at @THEPLAYERS, which includes never-before-heard mic’d-up insights. Produced in partnership with @NFLFilms and modeled after "Hard Knocks," Chasing Sunday followed Akshay Bhatia, @RickieFowler, Si Woo Kim and @ChrisGotterup, and aired a little over 48 hours after the final putt dropped. @KylePorterNS @PaoloUggetti Local take: it's too expensive to go now and so the crowd gets worse every year. A full 50% of the people there are there on passes from tourney sponsors. It's a $500 day if you wanna go and all the good viewing spots are for the folks who pay extra. Not a good crowd anymore.
