I don't see a positive outcome this time either. Either AI will not fulfil high standards by crazy investments and then the bubble will burst creating a crazy financial crisis or it'll become insanely powerful and countless people will lose their jobs and we'll have an unprecedented cultural crisis.

I've been approached by 4 people over the last 3 weeks asking me to evaluate their clearly vibe coded filter tools (one other person actually had a good idea and it had 0 AI) . Most of them already had paid functions and all them had the worst UX ever. I'm tired of the slop.

Many leads are incentivised to promote short/mid term results. UX is sadly often considered optional.. AI can often shine at this time scale. Results are quick and cheap. Longterm, I expect a lot of companies regretting this decission. Just look at the state of Windows11 right now.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share that Camelworks (Mackenzie Rowles) has passed away. With his family and many, many friends we gathered for a celebration of his life focusing on all he had achieved and how much love he gave so freely to all who knew him. It was a beautiful final send-off for an amazing guy who touched the lives of so many people, not only those he loved, helped and laughed with personally, but the millions of viewers he reached online through hundreds of videos he obsessively worked on throughout his years. Mackenzie’s ashes were scattered in his favourite spot in a beautiful national park he loved to visit. His family and closest friends ask that you share your favourite memories of him and to remember him for his endless passion, love of diving into the details, and the joy he brought to all. Please respect their wishes for privacy during this difficult time. We first met Mackenzie in 2015, when we were burgeoning young YouTube channels trying to make a living from gaming content in a world where almost no one believed it was possible. We’d meet up at local cafes to swap tactics, give each other pep talks about how we are going to make it big, and coordinate how we’d do the many “shout outs” so common for that era. Somehow it all worked out as planned, and the next thing we knew we were wrapped up together in all kinds of unique experiences we’ll cherish forever. From picking locks and doing archery at the Elder Scrolls Escape in Kangaroo Valley, to exploring the streets of LA at E3, or partying in a nuclear bunker in West Virginia – there are just so many good memories that wouldn’t have been the same without Mackenzie. The kinds of puns and jokes you’ve heard him use throughout his videos are a reflection of the same humour he’d effortlessly use in person to keep all his friends laughing. Camel was always there to talk or lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. He’d feature in our skits, spend hours dissecting the TES iceberg with us, and even made some fantastic thumbnails for our channel before we knew what we were doing. We will always appreciate the help and enthusiasm he shared with us in those formative years. We were blessed to see Camelworks become one of the core pillars of the TES/BGS community and we want you to know just how hard he worked for his audience, and how much he cherished your support. He was incredibly grateful for everyone who enjoyed the content he spent so much time creating and truly was the man of meticulous masterpieces, leaving no stone unturned in his deep dives (and quite literally with his love of collecting rocks, among many other esoteric oddities). Camel, rest in peace brother. May you live on in us all when we wander off the beaten path, searching every nook and cranny just to see what’s there. - Michael & Scott (FudgeMuppet)

Missing this wonderful man every day. Such a light and joy to have known Mack.
LoneVaultWanderer@LoneVaultWander

Today, we share the heartbreaking news that Mackenzie Rowles, known to many of you as “Camelworks”, has passed away. Together with his family and friends, we recently held a celebration of his life and gave him a final send-off, with his ashes being scattered across the Australian countryside. I cannot describe the heartache I felt when I was told the news. Mack was my good friend, one of the first people I ever met in the games industry and Bethesda/YouTube community, over 10 years ago. He was the kindest, most welcoming person you could ever have the privilege of knowing. He cared very deeply about those around him - always happy to have a conversation and help you with any problem you were facing, without question. And man, he was just the funniest guy. No matter how you were feeling, he could make you laugh and brighten your day. Camel’s family has asked for all of you to share your fondest memories of him and remember him for the incredible life he lived. He built an amazing community of over 800 thousand people across his YouTube channels, and we would love to hear how he touched your lives. Please also respect their privacy at this difficult time. Finally, I would like to show you this video of Mackenzie, which was made for his family and played at his celebration of life service. Many tears were shed when editing this video, and I hope it does his memory justice. Camel, I cannot help but cry when writing this, but rest in peace my brother. I will spend my days looking for you in Sovngarde and we will share a drink once again. - Jonny “LoneVaultWanderer” Roses

I'm being frequently asked why I'm not working by GGG and I think it's a good idea cast some clarity. I was offered to join the team by Chris during first ExileCon (same time as Octavian got onboarded). Working for GGG was a bit of a dream and eventually saying 'no' eventually was one of the hardest decisions of my life. Here are my main reasons: 1) Working remotely was not possible. I'm very close to my family and I'm a single child. Moving to NZ (12 hours timezone shift) would harm relationships and hurt my parents. NZ is an amazing country though. I can see growing old there. 2) I'm an anxious mess of a person. I don't make friends easily. Currently PoE is a big part of my life. Accepting the job would've made PoE my life. 24/7. Hobbies, friends, work etc. Migrating so far away, losing my mental-support systems and investing 100% time in PoE sounds like a recipe for a burnout. 3) I'm afraid that joining GGG would lead to me losing my 'voice' in the community. I think my takes are often quite balanced and hold some value. I think GGG has a lot of talented designers already. However, at least at the time many voices in the community were very polarised. 4) This likely would've led to the filter-project becoming worse. At least in the short term. Filters are a thing that essentially HAS to be community driven. A game about exploration, economy and creativity should not publish it's own cheat-sheet. 5) I think I'd make a decent game designer. But I'm currently quite a good filter-maker and a cloud architect. Not all paths you take mix well. That being said, while I'm not 'officially affiliated' with GGG - I'm still part of the Alpha team of PoE1. I get to talk to some big names and certain suggestions and feedback of mine got heard and implemented (both filter and game stuff). GGG also invited and paid for my previous 2 exilecon visits (flight, ticket, hotel) and is doing so again for the upcoming ExileCon.

One of the worst things to happen to e-commerce is that pop-up spin the wheel to get a discount. Mate, I know it's gonna be 5% after you get my email, phone number and a piece of my liver. The fact that it only pops up after you've already seen half the webpage is even worse.

I can't believe shaper/elder blobs are back 😂
Empyrian@empyriangaming

Path of Exile 3.28 Mirage league - more like an expansion tbh - Insane amount of content and changes FULL atlas rework - Map system is integrated into the atlas. Think Waystones from PoE 2 but without the annoying moving of the atlas & pathing around for towers - They are just.. maps now. You can put them on any layout on your atlas, and just run the same map 100 times, or change layouts, without having to favorite a new layout or having to buy 100 specific maps - New Astrolabes - atlas mechanic that places a blob on your atlas with escalating rewards as you clear the maps and consume the blob. Insane potential for juicing - Chisels removed, but that 20% quality we lost is now added to all maps by default and is actually buffed to 25%, once you complete your atlas - Maven chisels remain, most of their values are halved, but you only need 1 per map - T17 maps became Nightmare maps, and are more focused on uber boss fragments, like T17s were originally designed to be, can't astrolabe them - Lots of bad T17 (and T16.5) mods removed, such as 3 sec invulnerability every 10 sec, action speed reduction, Awakener's desolation, remove %es/life on hit - HUGE W New Mirage mechanic - In map juice mechanic, kill mobs, go into the mirage (same part of the map, everything is doubled in the mirage, including league mechanics), think Scourge but local - Once you clear the "overworld" part of the mirage, you get a wish - think Sanctum boon for the "underworld" part of the mirage. League mechanics copied by the mirage might differ from their overworld counterparts - New catalyst from Miraged Ultimatums - prefix / suffix quality - There will be a way to mirage your entire map 🤯 - 26 new uniques (13, but you can restore them, turning them into new versions) 8 new divination cards, 10 new rune grafts - 40 new Exceptional gems, some of which are replacing the existing Awakened gem system - Foulborn uniques going core, couple of them with some nerfs - New holy skills and reworked some holy archetype skills - 138 total atlas passive points (up from 132) - You can now kill Elder and Shaper for your Uber Elder voidstone (if you want, Uber Elder still works) - New Scion ascendancy, will change every league - Memory strands are now itemized so you can run them whenever you want Ground loot - Issues acknowledged, currency drops doubled (weighted towards to higher end currencies) - It will get a more of a look for next patch - but with all the juicing changes coming this league I'm honestly not worried atm Keepers-Breach goes core - Genesis tree fully unlocked - Walls deleted by damage - Nodes on the tree & new breach scarabs let you customize which encounter types you get, potential difficulty and reward juicing in hives - Harbingers removed. They will come back (hopefully better) - Fractured orbs, upgraded Harbinger uniques added to core drop pool. Harbinger and Horizon orbs removed - Blessed orbs will reroll Shaper/Elder maps Settlers changes - Swapped Ore and Crop rewards from shipping (Ore grants currency now, good, you actually have to play instead of AFK crop farm for free currency) - Mappers gold wage increased by 25% - You can reroll port bonuses, and they are more impactful than before - Int stacking nerfed, expected Q&A was awesome probably the best yet. Loved having Mark and @OctavianZilch explain stuff, really good vibes. @ZiggyDStarcraft did a great job as usual. Honestly really hype reveal stream @pathofexile LOGIN
