NEW: A Guatemalan illegal alien with a deportation order has been charged with raping a 5-year-old girl he was babysitting on Long Island, NY. The girl’s mother came home, noticed her bleeding, and took her to the hospital where a rape kit was used. DHS says local law enforcement in Suffolk County contacted ICE NYC and asked them to arrest Carlos Aguilar Reynoso to keep him out of the community while they built their case. ICE did arrest him, and transferred him back to local law enforcement once the DA charged him for the child rape. He is now facing a litany of charges and is in custody. In a statement, ICE says this is why cooperation between local and federal law enforcement is crucial, and why sanctuary policies that prohibit that cooperation endanger the public.

As someone who worked inside the USPS on their core mail-processing and tracking systems, I can tell you flat-out; unless they’ve done a complete, never-happened overhaul in the last few months, this executive order is going to be an absolute catastrophe. USPS already uses Intelligent Mail Barcodes (IMb) on a lot of election mail, but even in the 2024 general election; with "only" 99.22 million ballots processed, the Postal Service’s own Office of Inspector General (OIG) reported that nearly 40 million ballots had ZERO performance tracking data. That’s almost 40% of ballots flying blind through the system. No scans, no visibility, no accountability. State election officials from nearly half the states (plus D.C.) warned the PMG in writing last September that election mail was chronically delayed, lost, or arriving without postmarks. Even in primaries, Kansas alone had nearly 1,000 ballots tossed because they showed up too late or unpostmarked. This isn’t theory. This is recent, documented failure at current volumes. Now Trump wants unique tracking barcodes on literally every single mail-in ballot envelope nationwide, plus restricting who even gets to mail one based on a DHS/SSA verified list. The legacy USPS systems that handle scanning, sorting, and integration at scale were never built for that level of mandatory, error-proof, real-time tracking on millions of extra pieces. We’re talking outdated infrastructure, undertrained field staff, and the same “extraordinary measures” that still left tens of millions untracked last cycle. This isn’t “election integrity.” This is setting up a nationwide mail-in ballot choke point that the Postal Service is demonstrably not equipped to handle. Expect delays, lost ballots, mass disenfranchisement, and lawsuits that’ll make 2020 look organized. Great idea on paper. Execution? Total disaster waiting to happen.
