@MaggieChasse @sgraingerPhD @NerdRVT @ZebrafishRock I'd ping @crim_marcus for his input but in general make sure the environment is favorable and stable and wear the appropriate PPE. if the system can be broken down and disinfected it might also help but it will likely find its way back in again over time

Hello #zebrafish tweeps! We have isolated Aeromonas hydrophilia in our quarantine room, and I can't find any info on how concerned we should be, and how we can get rid of it. Anyone know? @NerdRVT @ZebrafishRock

@MaggieChasse @sgraingerPhD @NerdRVT @ZebrafishRock It is essentially a secondary pathogen, and it is indicative of another upstream insult (pathogen or environment). If you fix that problem then the A hydrophilia should cease to be a problem for the fish

@NicolasDenans There are many advantages to live diets especially for a small bodied warm water omnivore like zfish. Inculcating gut with beneficial microbes is one. The biggest drawback to them is lack of control over their nutritional profile and pathogen status

@NicolasDenans But there is no magic bullet. And you can control the profile of live diets to some extent if you’re culturing it with a high degree of professionalism.
