The answer:
The Call of Duty community needs a boogeyman to blame for all of their problems. No one can accept the idea that they had a bad game, or several bad games. If that happens, the lobbies are "sweaty" and full of SBMM.
People have made videos about how bad SBMM is going all the way back to BO2. The very game people today claim are perfect. The community often has no idea what they are actually talking about. On the subject of SBMM, what they want are bot lobbies. No one today is willing to accept that maybe they aren't as good as they think they are. 🤷♂️

Genuine question to Call of Duty fans, how can you tell what SBMM is like just from playing a few matches of a game? (I already see people saying the new BO7 SBMM system is no different) This is something I never understood, as SBMM and matchmaking systems in general are extremely complex with a multitude of factors in place. I don't think it's possible to just know what the system is like based on just playing a few matches. Even with playing a game throughout the full year, I can't confidently say the specific difference between all the systems. I can definitely feel a difference between BO7 and the games from MW19-BO6, but once we try to compare it against the classic games and games like BO4, I just have no idea. I trust people like Xclusive Ace who do extensive testing on stuff like this, but it's kind of strange to see a bunch of regular players claim they know exactly what SBMM "feels like" just after 1 match. That makes no sense. You cannot just claim SBMM is strict because you had a hard lobby or that SBMM is not strict because you had an easy lobby.
