@Tightnaven Yes, I think that’s exactly it. Anyone can fire a gun, but only an action hero could win a war with his fists. I don’t know if I would call it noble, but because of gang violence, I’m oddly happy to see young men boxing and shaking hands afterwards, rather than turn to murder.

@Tightnaven I think that in America, fighting with your fists is seen as a more respectful way to settle disagreements, because of how “easy” it is to settle it with a gun. If someone disliked me, and approached to fight physically, I would be probably happy it wasn’t a gun.

@akip_b I think that this is the core of language. I like to imagine early Japanese-English translators, and the chaos it must have been when first trying to communicate! We’ve made great progress since then.

@Tightnaven I think that in America, fighting with your fists is seen as a more respectful way to settle disagreements, because of how “easy” it is to settle it with a gun. If someone disliked me, and approached to fight physically, I would be probably happy it wasn’t a gun.

@mm0310_sakura I’m mostly kidding around. I think Americans just don’t often deal with internet crime in that way, so we feel more willing to post ourselves. I think we also post ourselves and our belongings because a kind of bragging is common in America. But don’t stalk or shoot anyone!

While Trump has the majority, and while moderate liberals refuse to do anything, it’s difficult to know what to do.
