@RolandLthi1 Ich erkläre es dir: man bekommt einen Menschen auch in einem sog. ZODIAC (="Dinghy")an Land. Auch wenn es keine Stege dort gibt. Man kann mit einem Gummiboot am Strand landen. Von da bringt man den Kranken in ein Spital zB zu Fuss auf einer Trage oder in einer Ambulanz.

Here are the facts about m/v Hondius 1) 6 people infected 2) 3 dead and 1 treating in ICU in South Africa, and 2 still on board. 3) Hanta virus - don't know if it is Andes strain which is endemic in Argentina (origin of the voyage) and can transmit human to human. 4) Andes has 30-50% mortality 5) Recent outbreak in 2019 had 35 infected and 11 deaths in Argentina. 6) Ship has not been given permission to disembark. Hantavirus needs lack of interferon to infect cells: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC34… Guess what causes interferon to go up. I'd be doing hot and cold if I were on that ship.

True. Note: Hantavirus does not usually spread from person to person. It is mainly transmitted from infected rodents to humans through breathing in airborne particles from their urine, droppings, or saliva. Human-to-human transmission is extremely rare and has only been documented in limited cases with the Andes virus strain in parts of South America. In the recent MV Hondius cruise ship outbreak, health authorities believe the infections came from rodent exposure onboard rather than person-to-person spread. Standard precautions are still recommended when caring for patients.
