A while back (June), I defended my PhD on metropolitan knowledge complexity at WU Wien. It's been a few amazing years, filled many fun conference visits and lots of hard work. I want to thank everyone who supported me on this journey! I would not have made it without you!

In my thesis, compared and critiqued popular approaches to measure #knowledge #complexity on the regional level. With all its potential flaws, the concept of knowledge complexity deserves attention as this kind of knowledge my offer superior #productivity effects.

Very deserved and overdue Nobel Prize for @DAcemogluMIT et al. And the timing is nice - we just published a paper on estimating historical GDPs per capita through machine learning, using their famous finding on the role of Atlantic trade as validation.
