@SahilBloom Great thread. There are many analogies to Luhmann's system of a so-called Zettelkasten (notebox). It's said that Luhmann was so effective in generating new ideas because of his system of note-taking en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zettelkas…

Step 2: Unstructured Note-Taking Begin with basic, unstructured notes. Take note of: • Foundational ideas • Novel insights • Things that made you go “hmmm” or “wow!” • Connections you identified to other topics I use Notion for this, but choose whatever works for you.

@esposito_ch I have a similar perspective on this. Sure, sometimes it's very hard to get through the comments (also because I've rarely revised something for university courses). But if you recognize that implementing them improves overall quality, then you generate some motivation

Peer review gets a bad rap, but every time I work through reviewers' comments, I'm amazed at how much my paper improves -- and how much I learn. Am I lucky? Or is my discipline unique?

@BreulMoritz Very important topic. Other disciplines have already implemented self-organized not-for-profit journals (e.g., solid-earth.net). This seems to be a valid strategy in a time in which printing costs may have become nearly irrelevant

This publication followed the call for graphical innovation by @regstud that offers a nice way to advance and publish data visualizations!

In some areas (colored in grey) the data was too scarce to produce reliable results.

What do geographers love? Maps! That’s why @EbertTobi and I produced a detailed map showing where people want to become entrepreneurs at the level of postcode sectors (N=9,271) in Great Britain doi.org/10.1080/216813…
