Was able to get a nice clean candump from K-CAN4 on the BCP - 500k baud non-FD CAN. Next will be hooking up the infotainment unit to the bus and monitoring traffic, then isolating what CAN messages wake up the unit!

Hello, we're doing a giveaway because we missed 1 giveaway from December. Our friend @whid_ninja hooked us up with their Offensive Hardware Hacking Training course. This is self-paced and comes with an exam voucher. It also comes with a hardware hacking kit and other cool gadgets. Using this course requires you signing an NDA with WhidNinja, you have to pinky promise not to leak the material, or something. See subsequent post for more details. If you want to become a cool and badass hardware hacking nerd, leave a comment below for a chance to win. - Winners will be selected randomly in the next 24 hours. - We will DM winners. - If you do not confirm your win in 24 hours a new winner will be selected - If your DMs are closed, you automatically forfeit your prize

@pirrup @newaetech Few people in the RECESSIM Discord had some boards made, they might be willing to sell you a built one until NewAE has them back in stock.

Tempted to buy ChipWhisperer-Husky as a Christmas gift for myself. Would it be a good upgrade from a ChipWhisperer lite? @newaetech

@MehdiHacks I need to buy the new, because the old are more difficult to put in place. Also some clips

Btw, what I showed in the previous thread, was the new probes (SQ series) They're improved in a few aspects compared to the old ones (SP series) : 1. They have an insulated design, providing max voltage rating of 300V (compared to the 60V DC, 30V AC of the previous generation) 2. They are claimed to have a lower center of gravity, hence more stable. 3. Have more ground options. I think the first 2 are enough to justify the upgrade. Some pictures for comparison (first is SQ10 vs SP10, second is new vs old oscilloscope probes)

🧵 How do you do hands-free measurements on your electronics circuits? Let's say you want to measure a few points on your device with a multimeter, logic analyzer or oscilloscope. If it's more than 2 points at the same time, you can't keep the probes steady with your hands for long measurements. You need them fixed. And in many cases, you can't (or don't want to) solder a wire to the board. This is where PCBite can be a great tool. #hardwarehacking 1/3

Workshop space is very precious to me. Therefore I'm very conscious about what tools to get and try to optimize it. Everything I buy needs to be compact and portable. That's why I have USB-based spectrum analyzers, small soldering station, etc. Recently got a fume extractor from Weller (ZeroSmog ShieldPro) It's relatively small, and I also use its top surface to store the soldering iron when not in use. Not sure if there are alternatives to this.

Did anyone find a worthy replacement of the Transcend RDF5K to read EMMC In-Circuit in 1 bit mode without spending $$$? Bought a bunch of cheap SD card readers from Amazon to test with, but none show up as mmcblk.
