@thebetz93 Smith called plays like a scared child. Maybe three plays a game were past LOS and middle of field was unheard of. Bubble screens and jet sweeps can only go so far

This thinking is backwards imo. The Steelers offensive design was fine under Arthur Smith. He was hindered by the QB and personnel, not the other way around, and had to adjust the scheme to make it work. We didn’t get to see the real Art Smith offense in 2025. In 2026, the scheme is *different* and more suited to the QB, and the personnel is clearly better. The limitation of the QB is still there, and so the ceiling of the offense is still low imo.

@scarpizio Isn’t PSR highly dependent on the play calling? Impacted by the timing of handoffs, bubble screens, jet sweeps, etc?

In Ben's final three full seasons, his Passing Success Rate average was 49.3 and his ANY/A was 6.6. Rodgers is 43.9 and 6.0. I know Ben was a shadow of his former self in those final years, but he is no worse than Rodgers has been and everyone keeps simping for Rodgers.

@manteQuilla404 @scarpizio Yea. Do you want a Super Bowl with those numbers and his Super Bowl performance is one of the worst in history. Quite a few Super Bowls have been won without coming into them with the top 10 QB. AR rarely makes mistakes and with a good defense you can win a lot of games that way.

@ronrule Unfortunately, it’s the only thing that saves some people from themselves. They would never have put that money away, so they would never be able to retire. And when they get too old to work to become a burden on the system and now we’re paying for them out of our taxes.

@DinkleBurghh Truth. A player slipping to a team used to be called a ‘steal’. Now it’s called a league wide assessment of a player. Because GMs have never been wrong before (sorry Brock Purdy)

I think a fascinating thing I see on here from Steeler fans is the idea of having zero belief in Will Howard or Drew Allar simply off where they were drafted. The last first round QB we took is one of the worst QBs of all time, in the same class the last pick is a franchise QB.

A couple in California spent five months intentionally luring bike thieves into their front yard with an unlocked bicycle, beating them with aluminum baseball bats, and posting the videos online. Corey Cornutt, 25, and Savannah Grillot, 29, of Visalia were arrested in January 2020 on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy, in connection with at least four beatings between July and November 2019. Police said the couple planted a bicycle in the front yard unsecured and waited. Once someone tried to steal it, both rushed out and assaulted them with a baseball bat. The videos they posted made the prosecution straightforward. A neighbour told reporters there would be blood on the street the next day after each incident, and had warned the couple: "Maybe it's not the best idea you're kind of bringing people into the neighbourhood that might not be here otherwise." They ignored her and continued. In each case the victims received various non-life-threatening injuries. The couple documented their own crimes in enough detail to guarantee their arrest.

Annie Agar confirms her significant weight loss in a short amount of time, is not due to ozempic but cutting out sugar and incline walking. No cause for concern according to Agar.

Everyone keeps talking about if 'Aaron Rodgers makes the Steelers a Super Bowl contender' this year. To me, that's the wrong question to ask, because Rodgers himself is not enough to turn the Steelers into a title contender this year. Sure, if the Steelers are going to go on a magical run in the playoffs this year, they probably need Rodgers to be their QB1 this year in order to make that possible, but make no mistake, if the Steelers end up winning the Super Bowl this year, the #1 reason they win it almost certainly wouldn't be Aaron Rodgers; it would be because the defense goes from pretty good under Tomlin/Austin to elite under new DC Patrick Graham. In my opinion, there are 2 ways teams can hope to compete for a title in the modern NFL. The first way is to have a high-end starting QB that elevates the entire team around them and gives them a shot in every game they play paired with a good enough supporting cast. That's obviously the preferred path because its the most sustainable on a year-to-year basis, but there were a grand total of zero QB options at the Steelers' disposal this year that would have fit into this category. The other way to reasonably compete IMO is to pair a good offense & good starting QB with an elite defense capable of shutting down or at least limiting the elite QBs they need to beat on the path to the Lombardi. And yes, pursuing that 2nd path has led to title success in the modern NFL very recently, as both of the last 2 Super Bowl champions in the 2024 Eagles and 2025 Seahawks fall into this category IMO. If the Steelers can pair the smart, game-managing style of QB that Aaron Rodgers is still very effective at playing even at age 42 with the improved receiving weaponry & play-calling surrounding him this year with a strong run game behind Rico Dowdle and Jaylen Warren, I believe they can *absolutely* have a good, top 10 NFL offense this year, even if they aren't in the 'elite' category, and that's okay as long as this defense takes the leap from solid to elite I believe they may be capable of making this year. The Steelers still have one of the most talented & deep pass rushes in football both on the edge and on the interior, added a much needed run stuffer in Sebastian Joseph-Day in free agency, have an awesome veteran secondary that can definitely hold the fort long enough for the pass rush to get home consistently, an awesome Big Nickel in Jalen Ramsey to be the straw that stirs the drink, and have a pair of uber-athletic LBs that could massively benefit from being away from Mike Tomlin's outdated defensive scheme that consistently put LBs in positions to fail. I want to make clear that I'm not saying it's a *certainty* that PIT's defense takes that leap from solid to elite this year (it's REALLY hard to be elite in anything at the NFL level), and if they fail to make that jump, the chances of PIT being a 'legit title contender' this year pretty much end there. With that said, I think there's definitely a chance the defense *could* take that leap given the talent that is present on the roster paired with the exciting possibilities that come with adding a DC in Patrick Graham who has a reputation of tailoring his scheme to the talent he has paired with the reality that this is without question the most talent he's ever had to work with in his time as an NFL defensive playcaller. Obviously multiple pieces need to fall into place here in Pittsburgh this year to make it a reality, but I truly believe there is a path here where the Steelers could become one of the most dangerous teams in football, putting them in the mix of 6-8 teams that by year's end, has a legitimate chance to go on a run when it matters most in the NFL postseason.

"Rodgers had 24 TDs and 7 INT last year" Russell Wilson had 26 TDs and 8 INT in 2023... and the Broncos ate a record $85M in dead money to get rid of him the next offseason. We HAVE to stop using raw stats to argue for QBs. The film tells a completely different story. #Steelers

I just don’t understand this thinking at all. The team has gone 10-7 the last 3 years, the coaching & scheme should be getting an upgrade on both sides of the ball, the defense is as talented as it’s been in years & the massive hole at the WR position that held this offense back significantly a season ago has been addressed… We hear this shit every year about the Steelers, and it always ends up being wrong. When are we gonna learn?
