Tanking reform is class warfare. Tanking teams have cheaper tickets, thereby making the game more accessible to families. Silver's vision of the NBA is two 39 win teams playing in front of 18,000 corporate rent-seekers and middle-men, without a real fan in sight.

Some people don't think tanking is a problem at all. Those are usually draftniks and people who just don't care about bad games. I guess that's fine I just don't understand it. Some think it's a problem but the solutions are worse, and I think that's where I'm at. The real solution would just be to shame, fine, and punish violators to get competitive integrity back in line but Silver set a tone years ago that he serves at the BOG's pleasure instead of the office of the commissioner holding independent strength. So he can't actually do anything to punish these teams appropriately because he can't PROVE what everyone knows they're doing.

Especially with the rise of all of these “performances” accounts clearly only chasing money/gambling deals it kind of feels icky to me now. I still like making highlight reels so I’m going to keep doing that but at the very least I won’t be doing it for any personal elon bucks and rather its elon bucks to a good cause.
