This is what Jazz should have said the first time he was asked this question.
I think Jazz is a very, very good player. He brings a lot to a team that is hard to replicate. But when you go through athletes who are revered in NY and the ones who aren’t, it’s the guys who look like they’re constantly locked in that fans love.
Aaron Judge/Derek Jeter types who perform well, act like they care and say the right thing to the media.
Just feels like as good as Jazz can be, he does himself no favors in the public eye. And that’s hard in NY because when the fans turn on you, it’s relentless.

Circled back with Jazz to ask him if he thought he had a chance to tag Yandy if he fielded the ball cleanly. "The only play at that point, you can't get Chandler at home. The best thing I was going to do is try to swing at (Yandy) and hopefully he backed out of the line and they call him out of the baseline and throw it to first base and get that double play. That was the best chance we had. If I didn't get the tag or the out of the baseline, it would've been the same result. I don't know if he was close. I don't know. You guys would have to tell me because I didn't get to really look up. The ball was on the ground."

My super strong parenting opinion is that while the kids are awake, you come last. No spending all of Saturday golfing. That’s family time. 6 am tee time only, maybe. Wanna go to the gym? Go after the kids go to bed, or wake up at 5. In a few short years, they’ll be out of the house and you’ll have all the time in the world for your own stuff. It’s okay to come last for a while.

You had me with the first two paragraphs and then immediately lost me at the third. We don’t need mandated cursive and enforced phone restrictions. We need more opportunities for genuine connection and community. No disrespect, but this is a very odd, boomer-ass solution to a very real problem. The best thing we can do for our kids right now is to just let them be kids.
Kids are getting cell phones sooner than any generation before them, screen times are up while real human connection is down, and foundational skills aren’t being taught enough these days. We need to take a step back.
It’s why I just signed a bipartisan bill into law, requiring cursive handwriting to once again be taught in PA public schools. It’s also why I’ve called on the legislature to pass a bill requiring schools to both implement a bell-to-bell cell phone ban and guarantee recess for every Pennsylvania student.
Let’s continue our work to set young people on a path to success — and let our kids be kids.
