"So you're a medic, do you think you can handle all this?" 🙄 So, this is just a random Monday morning rant. Sometime last week, I’m scrolling through WhatsApp and I see a contact asking for 20 people interested in learning AI automation. Someone was willing to teach it for free. Of course, I saw the post late. It had been hours, but I figured, why not? I’m already in an AI and machine learning tech class, so this is just a bonus. I wasn't going to let the opportunity pass without at least trying. I sent the DM. I told him I was interested if it wasn't too late. He tells me he’s still taking people in. And then comes the line. "But you’re a medic... would you be able to do it all?" Now, I knew it was probably coming from a place of concern. A little shade of worry, maybe. But I saw it for what it actually was. Being underestimated. And yeah, I got a bit pissed. Just a little bit, I promise. People see the list and they get overwhelmed for me. The fiction writing, the Web3 projects, building my own community, the teaching, the me being a medic, the reading, the working out, the spaces. But here is the thing. I have never complained about doing them. I love doing them. I actually live for them. I can’t even see a version of myself where I’m not doing them. When someone tries to tell me that I can’t, I always go ahead and do it. Why? Because I can. Yes, sometimes it becomes a lot. That is just part of the human experience when you have so much to give and such a hunger to grow. In those moments, I know I have to slow down. Sometimes I disappear. But my abilities and my dreams don't disappear with me. When I go silent, like @Iamceejaymac once said on my space, it’s because I’ve gone to re-strategize. That’s what I do when the noise gets too loud. I don't quit. I recalibrate. This isn't me telling you to go out and juggle a million things you can't handle. I do this because it’s my pace and my capacity. And you should have yours too. Do things at your own speed. Don't ever let yourself feel like you can't reach a certain level because of your background or your day job or whatever "box" people try to put you in. That thing didn't limit you. You bound yourself in that chain the moment you entertained the thought. My project is literally built on removing that boxed-in mentality. It’s about being bold, being confident, and taking charge of your own narrative. Life is always going to happen to you. That’s a given. But you get to choose exactly how long you let it keep happening before you take the wheel back. Anyway, to the beautiful ladies and gentlemen of the timeline, I am KyngéPearl. I’m sitting in my apartment, on my bed with my clothes and things scattered everywhere. Don't even look at me like that. I had a long week, it was my rest day, and I was still working remotely. I was planning to go for a walk in two hours, so there I was, scantily dressed and doom scrolling on TikTok, when I hear a knock on my door. Now, who could it be? I don't get visitors like that. I’m thinking it better not be my landlady’s children. Or Jehovah's Witnesses. Or those polio immunization people. I got up and went to open the door and I saw a delivery guy. I was shocked. I only see these kinds of things in films. He asks if I'm Pearl. I said, "Yes, I am. What do you want?" I was actually ready to scream my lungs out if he tried anything funny. But he took out a wrapped package and said someone had asked him to give it to me. I signed some papers and opened the package right there before he left. If it was a bomb, let it bomb the two of us. It wasn't a bomb. It was a headset with a letter saying, "I see you go for walks and you love music as you do so. Please accept the little gift for your fitness effort." No name. The delivery guy didn't know anything either. I’d wanted a JBL headset for ages, but I didn't use it. I just kept it. Fast forward to a week later. Another delivery guy, another package. This one was a book. How did this stranger know I loved books? The note said, "I see you haven't used my gift from before. You're still using your pods. Are you scared? I saw you reading book one the other day and decided to get you book two. I hope you like it." Hey God. Who was this angel of a stalker? 😫 I couldn't resist reading the book. Some days later, I’m sitting outside in the evening because of the heat, just reading. Then I get a text from an unknown number.
