I am extremely worried about my family, and I can't describe the fear I live with every single day. A short while ago, an airstrike hit a building very close to the apartment where my family is staying. The force of the explosion tore apart the tarps covering the place, and pieces of shrapnel struck the wall of the apartment. I can't stop thinking that if my family had still been living in a tent, they would probably all have been killed today. I called them on a video call just to make sure they were okay, but seeing my younger siblings crying in fear broke my heart. I feel completely helpless being so far away, unable to protect them. How much longer can this continue? In Gaza, anyone can lose their life at any moment, and I live with that fear every day. Today, I am asking anyone who is able to please help my family. They urgently need $600 to replace the damaged tarps so they can have some protection from the harsh conditions. My mother also needs medical treatment, and my brother Ahmed needs dental care. On top of that, they are struggling to afford food and clean drinking water. The life they are living is beyond words. A new and extremely dangerous nightmare is unfolding in Gaza City, yet almost no one in the world is paying attention. Massive sand berms are being built behind the line established during the war, with some reportedly reaching up to 30 meters in height. According to satellite imagery and videos that have circulated publicly, these earthworks continue to expand, while more than 70% of the Gaza Strip now falls within or beyond this area. We are literally living inside a tightly sealed prison. We cannot leave, people cannot enter, and patients are unable to travel for medical treatment. We are trapped by land, sea, and air, while the space where more than two million people can live continues to shrink day after day. How is all of this happening? Where is the ceasefire we were promised? Where are the commitments to improve the humanitarian situation? What we see on the ground does not reflect hope it reflects a reality that is becoming more difficult with every passing day. We cannot continue living like this. An entire city cannot be left to face this fate while the world watches in silence.
