I find it deeply un-American that individuals in unmarked cars get out in masks and pluck people off the streets. When I reflect on the hundreds of bills this session, I am especially grateful that Sen. Valdez's bill to bar law enforcement from wearing masks reached my desk.

The Millionaires' Tax will: Expand the Working Families Tax Credit to 460,000 additional households. Provide tax relief to nearly 140,000 small businesses. Exempt diapers, hygiene products, and over-the-counter medicines from sales tax. Invest significant funding into childcare and early learning. Provide free school lunch and breakfast for all Washington students. I strongly encourage the Legislature to pass this bill in its current form. It represents a historic step forward in rebalancing our unfair system and making life more affordable for Washington families and small business owners.

Life is too expensive for too many Washingtonians. I hear that every single day, including from small businesses. A Millionaires' Tax can't just tax the wealthy — it must take a significant amount of those dollars and help out folks at the other end of the economic ladder.

On this Day of Remembrance, we remember a shameful period in our nation's history — the internment of Japanese Americans, including many Washingtonians. This history is chillingly familiar at a time when we see unmarked vehicles and masked agents picking people up off the streets. People being disappeared. It’s just as outrageous and un-American now as it was then. We are not passive bystanders to what's happening. We all have a role in defending our democracy. Let's start by barring law enforcement from wearing masks, prepare to take whatever steps necessary to keep residents safe, and emphasize that we will use every legal option available to hold the federal government and individual ICE agents accountable.

@GovBobFerguson How much is your lawsuits costing taxpayers? Natural gas is more efficient that hydrogen. But we were told that natural gas is bad for the environment so we will phase it out. Hydrogen is made from fossil fuels. Please explain why this grant is needed. Who is profiting?

The Trump administration is canceling more than $1.1 billion in grants for energy projects across Washington state, including the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub. That hub will create a clean hydrogen economy across our region. It is outrageous that this administration is using a government shutdown to punish blue states like Washington. We’re working with the Attorney General’s Office to fight this illegal action.

Today I was T-boned by what appeared to be a drunk driver who stole a car (it appeared to be hot wired). The driver then started to run but I grabbed him and sat him down on the sidewalk. After about 5 minutes the suspect started sprinting down the street. I sprinted after him and tackled him into a construction fence. My fiancé, who was on the phone with the police, was told that I needed to let him go for “safety” reasons. The driver then walked away and will probably never be found. This is why California is turning into a sh*t hole. Criminals are allowed to wreak havoc knowing they will get away with it. The police and everyday citizens have their hands tied.
