This is the issue: Does the Democratic Party have the guts to stand up to corrupt and greedy insurance companies that bankrupt 500,000 people every year? If we don’t have the guts to do that, if all we can do is take their money, we should be ashamed of ourselves. #DemDebate

@Hatler06 @BernieSanders That’s really interesting right; if he opts to use the best healthcare plan possible (currently one for senators), but then will switch to Medicare for all when it’s available, doesn’t that prove M4A is so much better? We have this in Australia it works.

@plasmaau @BernieSanders But he can do that now. Senate Sanders can forgo his employer sponsored plan and select a plan through the marketplace.

I have a simple question for the health care industry: Why do you believe it is more important to spend millions on advertising, lobbying and campaign contributions than it is to make sure that no one dies or goes bankrupt because they cannot afford health care?

@Hatler06 @BernieSanders If you check his fox town hall, the interviewer asks Bernie if he would be on Medicare 4 All as well - “absolutely”. So that means you and him would have he same exact health care plan.

@tap_gary @BernieSanders None of that will happen, every other major country on earth has universal health care. Bernie's trying to ensure you have full health coverage and you won't go bankrupt. The system Bernie is proposing is already working for others in the world. It's wonderful.

Insurance companies want you to think millions of people will lose health coverage under Medicare for All. They're lying. In fact—tens of millions lose their insurance every year in our dysfunctional system. Under Medicare for All, no one will lose coverage or be uninsured.

I want to say "Nooooo, please think about: <insert 46 reasons>". But doing that just makes people depend on you to catch anything, when multiple people should be catching those things. But, I need production not to break either. It's a tough balance of teaching and pass blocking.

Some days I feel like the hardest part of my job is seeing an idea that'd cause harm, then not saying anything hoping other people recognize the downsides, learn, discuss, etc. And if they don't...hoping I don't forget to say something later before it runs away and causes damage.
