2400 years ago, people sat together and debated questions we still have not answered to this day. What does it mean to be a good person? What is a just life?

This the basic difference. Republicans believe that that if you let the wealthy spend capital it will make Americans prosperous. Democrats believe that the federal government investing in the healthcare & education of our people will make America prosperous & productive.
Don Wilson@drwconvexity

@RoKhanna I am highly confident society will derive greater benefit if that capital is in Elon’s hands than in the hands of the government.

Why is your solution to everything, “Take more of other people’s money”? Why don’t you reform the health insurance companies whose stock prices have all 10x+ since Obamacare was enacted. The Democrat’s record is failure after failure after failure. You expect us to believe it will be different this time?

“I must say, Cephalus, that many would disagree with your account. Those many would say, it’s not your mind, but your wealth. You’re rich, let’s not be coy, it affords you some ease That not all those at your age enjoy who live in great need.” -Socrates, 375 BC Excerpt From The Republic of Plato Remix: Book I - Views on Justice

Well, the last work of Plato is called The Apology, and in it Socrates gets convicted of the crime of “corrupting the minds of the youth” and is put to death by drinking the potion of the poison hemlock plant. His last words were “Don’t forget I owe our buddy a goat.” 🤷‍♂️ He wanted to pay his debts. This was 350 BC, so let’s think about how dumb we are today and imagine how dumb they were 2500 years ago. For 350 years the story of the great philosopher turned prophet who was put to death for corrupting the youth spreads by word of mouth and in other forms of grandeur across the empire of Greece and into Africa and the Middle East and what will become the Roman Empire. JC comes out teaching a philosophy of love of your neighbors and the weakest among us and gets put death by the Romans, for what? Corrupting the minds of the youth. For 425 years after that Christianity spreads amongst the peasants and poor. They dream of an afterlife of salvation in a life of suffering. There are many different interpretations of Jesus over those 400+ years. Some see him as a prophet, some see him as a militant and call to fight the Roman’s, some see him as the incarnate creation of the son of god. But they all see him as a beacon of hope to “everlasting life”. Around 425 AD emperor Constantine of the Roman Empire gathers the Council of Nicaea of all the sects of Christianity with all their different beliefs to come up with the official doctrine of Christianity. This is where they decide everything. What books get into the Bible, what way they do mass, who is allowed and who is not, etc. Just thinking about human nature, do any of us believe that Emperor Constantine of the Roman Empire gathered those people together to set rules of Christianity out of the kindness of his heart, and because he felt Jesus’s love? Or was this a way to control the masses and get them heads down and backs bent begging for salvation? That’s what they got. For 1000 years the Church had a monopoly on literacy. The only book for the masses was the Bible and it was written in Latin, a language no one spoke or read. It’s called the Dark Ages. The Renaissance brought humanity out of the darkness and it was all led by a return to classical thought of the writings of Plato and teachings of Socrates, Aristotle and others. History matters.

Racism against Black people in America is worse than racism against white people in America. Both are bad, but imagine this thought experiment: Consider a hypothetical society of 100 people: 98 are Black and 2 are white. Imagine that individuals from both groups hold equally racist views toward the other. In that scenario, which group would you rather belong to? Most people would recognize that being one of only two white people in the minority would likely be more difficult. The prejudice itself is equally wrong, but the lived experience and practical consequences can be very different when you are vastly outnumbered. African Americans are Vastly outnumbered in America.

Read the Book of Mormon. Cover to cover. Pray about it, asking sincerely to know whether it’s true (the final chapter provides specific guidance on this point). Then tell me whether Latter-day Saints believe in Jesus Christ. Will you accept that challenge?

“Does the musician tuning their instrument every day, Not know that for each string there is a perfect pitch they should play? They know that there is a limit or a specific measure they seek to attain with poise, But the unmusical know nothing but how to bang on instruments and make noise. Does the just person not also seek a specific measure of justice? Is not their wisdom and virtue shown in finding that perfect righteousness? But the unjust, see no limits and have no perfect measure to seek. Their only goal is to get more for themselves from the strong and the weak. They can therefore be no more wise or good than the musician Who can’t play the right note of the instrument in their possession?” -Socrates, 375 BC Excerpt From The Republic of Plato Remix: Book I -Views On Justice
