Last year, Mark Carney promised many times that he would create "free trade in Canada by Canada Day" by removing federal interprovincial barriers. According to today's statement from the Minister, does it sound like we have free trade in Canada? Why then did he promise this?

I’m old enough to remember when the Liberals promised they’d bring about free trade in Canada by Canada Day of 2025. So if the Minister is saying this is the provinces' fault, why did Mark Carney promise free trade in the first place?

Liberals have filibustered two plus Transportation committees meetings- cancelling appearances by Ports, CBSA and Firefighters and he has the gall to say this will end ‘silly partisan games’?

Liberals: We want to be a unifying government, it is our our duty to reach across the aisle of the House of Commons to work with other parties on solutions. Also the Liberals:

The Liberals got less than 44% of the votes in the last election. Thanks to their aggressive recruitment of floor-crossers, they now have 51.4% of the seats in the House of Commons. They now seek to ram through changes that will give them 58% of the seats on committees.

I worked in the department of finance from 2007 to 2009. I'm well aware of how the bank implemented forward guidance and conditional commitments... both of which lead to the disastrous and negligent promises of the governor in 2020 saying interest rates would remain low for a very long time. That encouraged canadians to gorge on debt and bid up real estate. Many of whom are now in negative equity positions. But yes, continue to play defence for the Prime Minister's purposeful sloppy choice of words.

The Liberals' newest MP told the media that her letters to the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure "[...]went really nowhere, until I crossed the floor." She said the Minister's staff contacted her the day after she crossed the floor wanting to discuss projects in her riding that needed funding. The Minister says he has no knowledge of this. If ministerial staff are only paying attention to letters from Liberal ridings, then this is the very definition of corruption. We need an investigation.

What is even the point of Parliament? At Health Committee, we asked to see the PrescribeIT contracts, in which the Liberals blew $250 million on NOTHING.   But Mark Carney’s Chief Filibuster Officer spent 2 hours talking to prevent us from seeing it. I asked why at Question Period, but the Chief Filibuster Officer took the question and…. Filibustered. That’s why I went to ask again tonight in the House:

A lot of the media (and Liberals) are going to use this kind of wording today. Let’s make one thing absolutely clear: Prime Minister Carney did not “win” a majority because of these by-elections. They were Liberal seats before, and they are Liberal seats again. Nothing changed. This majority government was not won, it was fabricated by deals with opposition members who were persuaded to cross the floor. The voters did not give the Liberals a majority. Backroom meetings with a handful of opposition members did.
