Since 2023, I’ve been developing PlayAbility Adaptive Software, a Windows app that lets you add the controls you’re missing and build your perfect controller setup.
The idea is simple: with just your webcam and microphone, PlayAbility gives you face and voice recognition on top of the peripherals you already use: keyboard, mouse, gamepads, adaptive devices so you can extend them with new ways to play and fully control every game the way you want.

What you can do with PlayAbility:
Voice recognition in 24 languages
Say a word or phrase and instantly trigger any action: keyboard keys, mouse clicks, gamepad buttons, analog sticks, or triggers.
Control analog sticks and triggers with your head and face
Move your head to steer, aim, or look around, and use facial gestures to accelerate, brake, or fire. Everything behaves like a real stick or trigger, not just digital presses.
Turn mouse movements into game controls
Convert mouse movement into analog stick aiming, WASD-style keyboard inputs, or even gamepad button presses.
Use facial gestures as universal inputs
Smile, blink, raise your eyebrows — any gesture can become a button press, a trigger, or even continuous stick movement. PlayAbility recognizes over 50 different face gestures, so you can choose the ones that feel most natural to you.
Control your mouse hands-free
Use head tracking to move the cursor, and combine facial gestures or mapped keys to click, drag-and-drop, or scroll. Works for both gaming and everyday PC use.
Unify all your gear
Merge adaptive controllers, joysticks, pedals, or any gamepad with PlayAbility’s inputs into a single, seamless virtual controller.
Mix head, mouse, and keyboard inputs
Combine head movements with mouse motion or keyboard presses, and map them to any gamepad action, trigger, or stick.
Remap everything to game controls
Reassign keyboard keys, mouse clicks, mouse movement, voice, and face/head gestures to any gamepad button, stick, or trigger — or directly to keyboard presses and mouse clicks.
Play beyond your PC
Control PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles via Remote Play, and the Nintendo Switch with an 8BitDo Micro adapter. And this is just the beginning, something very cool is coming soon ;)
