Parents literally punch refs at grsssroots. I don't get why people think these refs just will be pulled out of thin air to improve the standard

Players are being urged to show their support for referees by clapping them on to the pitch. A new campaign called “Give The Ref A Hand” is being launched in grassroots football with the hope that it will also be taken up by the professional game. (@henrywinter)

@FootyAccums I spoke to a guy who was a friend of Tony Pulis. When he had a tour around Stoke’s training ground, they had several pitches with grass at different lengths. Dependent on the opponent determined which one they would train on & set the pitch up to.
