This afternoon, I attended the launch of the @bloodcancer_uk report to bring blood cancer out of the shadows, which sets out a plan of action for swifter diagnosis and quality care needed to ensure the best possible chance of survival.

It was great meeting with @bloodcancer_uk today to hear about their landmark report. In the last 10 years, 1 million+ potential years of life have been lost to blood cancer, this needs to change. The event was sponsored by the lovely @AlliancePartyUK MP @SorchaEastwood ❤️

I back Blood Cancer UKs plan to increase survival in the UK. We need to take blood cancer out of the shadows. We need workforce future-proofing, swifter diagnosis, to ensure best care and equal access to trials and treatments. Great to meet with them with @tomgordonLD

I attended @bloodcancer_uk’s parliamentary reception to launch their Blood Cancer Action Plan, which outlines the necessary steps needed for improvement. Blood cancer is the third leading cause of cancer deaths in the UK, and we are falling behind other comparable countries.

@Laura_Challinor So sorry you couldn't make it Laura, the team were awesome, the best Report launch yet, it was superb and we know you worked so hard to make it happen. Cardiff, Holyrood and Stormont will be just as good. Rest up, get better and thank you!

@SorchaEastwood shared the reality of a blood cancer diagnosis at @bloodcancer_uk Action Plan launch in Parliament. Mirrored my diagnosis, in a hospital ward, asked 2 minutes later if we wanted more kids, privacy provided by a blue paper curtain. @livbailey thanks for supporting.

@bloodcancer_uk is an outstanding charity. The trustees are exceptional, the Management Team is awesome. Their commitment to patient care & fundraising to support Blood Cancer research projects is exemplary as are the research teams. A top organisation.

@katievscancer @ThanksCancer Something that affords a little more privacy and dignity at the moment you're told you have cancer than the flimsy, blue, paper curtain that doesn't reach the ceiling or floor.

Every cancer patient should be gifted high quality noise canceling ear buds upon diagnosis. No one deserves to be subjected to the constant beeps, snores and other infusion room sounds. What do you think cancer patients should be gifted as they enter this vortex? @ThanksCancer
