I think many devs over assess their devops needs and spend too much time engineering systems that are super reusable instead of building simple systems and then shifting slowly as demand increases. Significant user base increases are not very common in my experience

In all honesty I really think a VAST amount of applications out there are missing UML diagrams and any form of documentation surrounding how and why things are built as they are. It's not built into the code, and even brilliant simple code does not detail the business rationale

@pleckey Got it. The temperature in your area is beyond the operating temperature of your camera. Thus, giving you a message in the Google Home app. Rest assured your camera will automatically go back online once it gets warmer in your place. Let us know if there's anything else.

In Ottawa it’s “my @googlenest cameras don’t work anymore” cold.

@madebygoogle It is not running off battery, it is plugged in continuously.

@pleckey Understood. At temperatures close to -4°F (-20°C), your battery may have less than half the life that it has in warm weather. Thus, your battery may drain quickly and go offline. We'd suggest moving it at a warm place to charge if needed. Check this out: goo.gle/3dmTkeA

@madebygoogle It’s a “Nest Cam (battery)” although it is plugged in, and it was -27C air temp, -43C with wind chill - so I don’t blame the little cam for not wanting to be outside! 🤣
