Governor, you haven’t delivered any meaningful tax cuts for Marylanders. Instead, nearly every cost has increased under your administration: gas prices have reached $4.00 per gallon, car registration fees have gone up, new entertainment taxes have been imposed (including on alcohol and recreational activities), and property taxes have risen. You’ve even proposed taking a percentage of the proceeds from home sales for those who choose to sell and leave the state.
How exactly are you helping Maryland families? Just recently, you were booed by an entire crowd clearly unhappy with your leadership. I believe it’s time to step aside. Come election time, you’ll see that the vast majority of Marylanders are dissatisfied with your performance.

Last week, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis. Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work, and serve their communities with strength and determination. I now join their ranks.
I am grateful to have an outstanding team of doctors who detected the cancer early and are guiding my care, and I am encouraged by a very good prognosis.
I am also deeply thankful for the support and encouragement of President Trump as I undergo treatment and continue serving in my role as White House Chief of Staff.
