@HTee02736181 @IlliniMBB That defensive sequence with all the intended fouls at the end of the 1st half was mind-boggling.

@IlliniMBB Someone better tell underwear to stop shutting his team down to milk the clock when he has a lead.. That's how he choked to UCLA and Wisconsin.. Keep the foot on the throat and play thru the finish line..

@IMAbrose @kerotsap @Champaign_Room I feel like the FT stats would benefit from an additional notation of total FTs available, as existing stats ignore the back-end of 1-and-1’s when the front-end is missed. ex: 6/10[12]

@DylanRatigan Posts like this are exemplar of how we arrived here, damming Democrats for imperfection and wholly ignoring GOP failures and corruption.

His gender and skin color are irrelevant to the fact that he facilitated a complete cover-up of the core, structural flaws and mass betrayal of the financial crisis that correctly seeded a terminal discreditation of institutional power - and laid the political foundation for the situation we are presently in - - and opened the door for wanton corruption
JP@perealaw

Disagree. It's electing a black president twice that caused the lid to explode off the pressure cooker. "Where is his birth certificate?" "He is not an American." Etc, etc. And Obama came after 8 years of Bush. There was no way a Republican was going to be elected after George W. Bush. You were there. You covered it.

@DylanRatigan This has to be among the dumbest things ever typed on this platform, at least by someone with supposed credibility. Trump is in power because he co-opted control of a radicalized, racist GOP base, and a massive Right Wing media machine.

@Sportski_Zurnal Not sure “awe” captures it. Here’s Peja’s reaction to Andrej’s high-off-the-glass finish to an early slash to the hoop. (Stojakovic)

@Tacogalkfd @Reecedavoice If it’s any consolation, I was still scared we’d blow it at the 1 minute mark. Houston is insanely good.

@glenn_kinley FWIW, several Iowa players were supposedly still recovering from some illness that game. (Putting aside that Iowa doesn’t seem like a team that went 3-7 in the 10 games prior to the tournament.)

ELITE 8 PREVIEW: Illinois beat Iowa 75-69 in January in Iowa City. Andrej Stojakovic got going early for Illinois - and the #Illini led by as many as 18 but Iowa surged back and made it a four point game late. Illinois held on, Wagler finished with 19 points while Stojakovic and Boswell had 17 each.

@DK_210 @ALionEye @TheFieldPass “if we are fortunate enough to get to Saturday we can worry about them then” EXACTLY what I was thinking. (Though it does also depend on how they choose to root, tonight.)

@ALionEye @TheFieldPass Isn’t it good they are heavily present? Every Nebraska fan in red is one less Houston fan in red. And if we are fortunate enough to get to Saturday we can worry about them then if they make it.

@ALionEye @TheFieldPass Have to hope they stick around and root for the Illini in the late game, viewing the Illini as a preferred opponent.

I think class and style is the problem with today’s politics. Newsom and Obama have class and style and horrible destructive policies
Mike Parks@mptpafl

@adamcarolla Bruce has more class and style in his pinky than blowhard President TACO who without a doubt is the worst president in my lifetime.

@adamcarolla Destructive policies? Good God, man. He literally leveled one third of the White House. Also, many innocent people around the world. And that economy's really booming isn't it? Before the war, even. Destructiveness is his key personality trait after pride, arrogance & avarice.

@SarahLongwell25 >hijack it and turn it into something completely different This GOP isn’t all that different from before, just more, and with the racism more overt. A bullhorn rather than dog whistling. Trump couldn’t have so easily taken control without the GOP base having been conditioned.

George W. Bush left office with a 32% approval rating. That was enough to cost Republicans two Prez elections, but more importantly left the party so weak that Trump was able to hijack it and turn it into something completely different. I want to see Trump at 32%. The Bush line.

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as the 8th Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. I want to thank President Trump for entrusting me to lead the department leading the fight to Make America Safe Again. In one year, the patriots at DHS delivered the MOST secure border in American history, 3 million illegal aliens have left the U.S., located 145,000 unaccompanied children, delivered disaster relief at a 100% faster rate, ushered in the golden age of travel, saved the American taxpayer $13 billion, and revitalized the U.S. Coast Guard. As Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas, I will build on the years of national security expertise I forged during my time as Secretary of Homeland Security, Governor of South Dakota, and Congresswoman on the House Armed Services Committee.

Brad Underwood isn't bothered by Illinois having to play Houston in Houston in the Sweet 16. "I don't worry about that," Underwood says. "You've got to win to advance. Illini Nation shows up. "You've got to play well."
