They don’t face nearly as much competition as lions do, they’re solitary for a reason. Look at the male lions mortality rate compared to not only the tiger but any other land predator.

They’re superior combatants & far more accustomed to fighting. Lions kill tigers, they don’t see them as equals, they face much harsher competition
