Neste dia em que sanciono o Projeto de Lei que cria o Dia Nacional em Memória das Vítimas da Covid-19, peço um minuto de silêncio em memória daqueles que nos deixaram em decorrência da pandemia. A cada família que perdeu um ente querido, a cada brasileiro que perdeu um amigo, uma amiga, deixo um fraterno abraço. Neste dia, é importante também fazer um reconhecimento ao SUS. Que é feito por nossa gente, que se manteve firme quando a população mais precisou. Médicos e médicas, enfermeiras e enfermeiros. Motoristas, pessoas que lavam as roupas, que limpam o chão dos nossos hospitais e recepcionam os pacientes. Arriscaram suas vidas para proteger a do próximo. A todos vocês, que fizeram e fazem o SUS, o meu muito obrigado. E a cada brasileiro e brasileira que atuou de forma voluntária para ajudar a nossa população, deixo também a minha gratidão.

The NBA mourns the passing of Oscar Schmidt (1958-2026). The Brazilian basketball legend debuted for Brazil at 19 in 1977 and played in every Olympics from 1980 to 1996. Oscar’s the all-time leading scorer in Olympic history with more than 1,000 points and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013. We extend our deepest condolences to the Schmidt family.

Earthset. The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.

This looks like it's a daytime shot, but, it's actually taken from the dark side of Earth, with the planet illuminated by moonlight. This lets faint details like the aurora, stars and the sodium layer show up without over exposing the planet.
