My only real complaint with the backrooms movie is that we didn't get to see a lot of REALLY cool rooms that emphasize the backrooms' size like besides that Oldest View pit reference one... But that complaint will definitely be remedied by a second installment
LOVED #Backrooms when it felt like this generation's Blair Witch, less so afterward. Still, I can't stop thinking about its chilling meditation on our cultural degradation through recursive loops and self-cannibalization of nostalgia. That final shot...haunting.
It has those eerie feelings of memory decaying, like an AI image that feels almost real, but is altered fundamentally.
Also TCM implications during the dinner scene ifykyk
#Backrooms is equally as profound and groundbreaking as the release of Texas Chainsaw Massacre was in 1974 in the context of modern film/ culture.
