Vashtie Kola is a New York–based creative director, filmmaker, DJ, designer, and cultural tastemaker known for helping shape downtown NYC’s intersection of fashion, music, and art over the past two decades.
She first gained recognition directing music videos and creative campaigns for artists and brands, then made history in 2010 as the first woman to design her own Air Jordan 2 Retro Vashtie sneaker with Jordan Brand. Since then, she has worked across fashion, nightlife, storytelling, and brand strategy with companies like Nike, Adidas, and Puma.
Vashtie is also known as a longtime DJ and cultural connector in NYC nightlife, especially across the Lower East Side creative scene, where she helped bridge indie culture, hip-hop, and streetwear communities.
Today, she continues to work across:

filmmaking
DJ culture
fashion collaborations
brand storytelling
youth culture strategy
She’s widely recognized as one of the early architects of modern downtown New York creative culture in the 2000s–2010s era. 🎧🗽✨
