@theajennda In general, I would figure they weren't the right audience for that book. People who aren't in the arts have no idea how important it is to tell the artist/writer what they like about a piece. If they can't find positive things to say, then they should keep quiet unless you ask!

Question for you writer folks: You meet someone new who is eager to read your work. They buy a book and then proceed to tell you exactly what they think of it in detail. Most of the feedback is highly critical/negative. How would you react?

@KarenLNHollis I know. I hardly come on this platform anymore. And those DMs are so stupid. "What do you like about writing?" From some famous writer? I don't think so.

Where are all the real people?? Even some of the "authors" on Twitter are just bots, who immediately DM me to ask something. Tell me what you've been watching on TV lately. I need some chat with real people!

@NoahRayWrites That drives me crazy. My mother was no prude but she and her friends would never have used it. So when I hear it in a period piece -- especially from women, it really grates. Contemporary stories, no problem.

Can we stop using the F-bomb in movies and books set in time periods before it exists? I dont mind swearing in my media and I dont mind a little modernization or translation. But that one in particular just breaks all immersion for me. PLEASE STOP! There are alternatives.

I'm nearing 40 years old, and I'm close to 300 lbs. I need to fix this. I know that diet is more important than exercise but I need to exercise more as well Not sure how to do this without hurting myself at this point. And injuries are big setbacks

A new way how AI hurts authors. I'm sure I'm not the only one who received the new type of emails 'book promoters' attack authors with. Instead of beginning with 'I came across your book on..." they start by saying that they've read one of my books. And proceed with recounting why they loved it, with plot elements and ideas the story conveys. It is clear that an AI program compiled it from the blurb and reviews. I find it deeply upsetting and unsettling. Is this the direction we want and need the IT progress to move? For scammers who are after our money to have more refined tools to cheat us? #WritingCommunity

@CreatureAuthor I had that happen but didn't realize the implications. Thanks for clarifying. The review I got was positive but also insane. Obviously an actual human had not read the book.

*sigh*... One of my ARC readers ran Hydra's Wake 2nd Ed through an AI... They thought I was ok with it until they saw some of earlier posts today, and well... yeah... That was not awesome.
