I prefer old-fashioned crises where a Tory MP would lose the whip, another would defect to Change UK, an obscure PPS would quit, and across the way sat Jeremy Corbyn, serenely composing his 137th EDM on the overthrow of the Allende government.

Wrote for the Scotsman back in Nov that Scottish Labour should be careful not to distance themselves too much from the UK brand. That was before today's declaration of civil war... but I don't think voters like it when politicians do what Sarwar did today. Can't see an upside.

I would caveat this and say that we do want centrists - just not what Twitter, commentators and journos think / want centrists to be. Centrists *do* exist but they want strong borders, a growing economy and fairness with welfare. They have *nothing* in common with Rory Stewart.

The family of Matilda, the 10-year-old girl killed in Sunday’s attack, addressed the crowd in Bondi on Tuesday night.
