Good morning from Great Abaco. Bryan Hooker's lawyer tells me he plans to STAY in the Bahamas to continue the search for his missing wife, Lynette.

Butler told me she does not know if Brian Hooker has his passport. She plans to reconvene with him in the morning to discuss his situation further.

MORE: I just spoke with Brian Hooker’s attorney Terrel Butler. I asked whether Brian is free to leave the Bahamas. “I have to discuss that further with him and the police,” she told me.

Royal Bahamian Police Force statement: The Department of Public Prosecutions recommended that charges should not be filed “at this time pending the outcome of further investigations.”

Brief note: Brian Hooker’s lawyer told us earlier today that Bahamian police could rearrest him. I have reached out to them to see what’s next, if anything.

BREAKING: Brian Hooker, the man arrested after his wife Lynette vanished during a boating trip in the Bahamas, is being released from jail, his attorney tells Fox News Digital.

FIRST LOOK: Brian Hooker is a free man.

Terrel Butler was frustrated as she walked out of the jail without Brian. She gave that brief update, then went back in. About two minutes later she walked out grinning saying he would be released.

BREAKING: Brian Hooker is being released from jail. His attorney tells reporters outside "he should be walking out shortly." More as I get it.

Terrel Butler also said: "I believe someone should have said something to me at this point, or they should have released him. So I will continue to wait and I will continue to make note of the time."

JUST NOW: Brian Hooker's attorney walked out of the Central Police Station empty-handed. "The have been stalling. I have not been provided with any information. It is his constitutional right that after the 72 hours he should be released." She says it's "unacceptable and disrespectful" and that she's still waiting to hear more.

This is a useful graphic to show Brian and Lynette Hooker's activities on April 4/5. They motored out of the harbor from the Abaco in, and the trouble began just before they would have turned south along the red dotted line. Eight hours later, he washed up at Marsh Harbour Boatyards.

As the 7:20 p.m. deadline looms for Brian Hooker’s potential release from jail in Freeport, his boat remains anchored here in Abaco. Terrel Butler, his attorney, wouldn’t comment on whether Bahamas authorities have Hooker’s passport.

LATEST: Bryan Hooker’s attorney just left the Central Police Station in Freeport after her client was interviewed by the police officially for the second time. She says even if he’s released without charges today, he could be rearrested later.

We took a ride along the dinghy route yesterday, and around the rest of this area. This is the view facing south from about where the incident occurred. The land to the right is Lubbers Quarters, another cay. To the left is Elbow Cay, with Tahiti Beach at 11 o'clock.
