His financial situation stabilized only after winning the mayoral election in 1981.

Ayn Rand was born on February 2, 1905. Her ideas have had a massive impact on my life, and her story as an immigrant from Soviet Russia is remarkably inspiring. This is one of my favorite photos of her, taken in her house in Los Angeles in 1947. The man in the photo is her husband, Frank O’Connor. He was very supportive of Rand’s work, and I love how that support is portrayed in this photo.

Certainly not to the shelters. The one by us is utterly awful. I wish I could take ever last one home. They dont deserve to live the way they do there. Smells, crazy loud. All the animals are traumatized. Staff is uneducated. Animals not well taken care of. I could go on and on and on.

I thought the ASPCA ran most animal shelters. I was wrong. They collect more than $300 million (Those sad commercials with dogs in cages are a gold mine) in donations, but spend only 2% of that on shelters. Where does the money go?:

I almost did a spit take of my coffee this morning when I saw these signs set out very near the newly established "liberated zone" at @WilliamsCollege. I couldn't agree more.
