If you love history, archaeology, archaeologists and critical thinking about history, go get yourself 'Motel of the Mysteries' by David Macaulay, 1979.
It is hysterical and thought provoking.
It describes archaeologists of the year digging up an 1970s motel.

1. To understand Iran's protests it's striking to juxtapose images of the young, modern women killed in Iran over the last week (Mahsa Amini, Ghazale Chelavi, Hanane Kia, Mahsa Mogoi) with the images of the country's ruling elite, virtually all deeply traditional, geriatric men.

TIL that as the CO river dries up, AZ is leasing its largest underground aquifer to the Saudis, who are growing water-intensive alfalfa, which is then shipped back to S.A. to feed cattle. Market rate for the lease is $5 million/yr. Saudis pay $86K. azcentral.com/story/opinion/…

If Democrats don't come out and flood the Sunday news programs and media outlets about the threat of MAGA violence in light of the attack on Pelosi it's just political incompetence at this point and also an utter failure to warn and mobilize people ahead of the midterms.
