Not defending or convincing,I’m simply pointing out design inspirations & identifying the reason/intention of why the hood is always open/standing straight-up. 1 google search based on its new info and I knew… Gators DO keep their mouths open to release heat from their bodies🤯 The helmet being primarily open wasn’t just a random bad choice of positioning but a fully intentional placement. It’s like that for a specific reason. Which means we will probably never see it tweaked to be positioned more at an angle😭 I’d even argue there’s more than one reason. They really put a lot of thought into this part of the design, only for it not to go over well. 1. While sunbathing(something they spend most of their lives doing), Gators regulate their body temperature by keeping their mouths open. This is similar to how a dog pants to release heat. 2. The helmet/hood is also primarily Feraligatr’s dorsal or back fin that grew into a bigger draconic dorsal fin upon Mega evolution. There are a variety of dorsal fins in fish & sea creatures but most of them sit straight up on the animal’s back. So it makes sense that the designer would want this to resemble that as it’s intended to be a fin. It even specifically resembles a flipped great white shark’s dorsal fin, probably to invoke a comparison in fierceness 3. Alligator’s carry their young in their mouths to protect them. This is that same concept. Feraligatr’s little (main) head inside of a giant faux head that can close down to protect its main head like a helmet. 4. The biting power of the faux jaw is 10x stronger than Feraligatr’s real jaw so it has to swing down from the highest point possible to create that biting force. 5. It could be purposely shaped like an old alligator trap. With the spring of the trap being its real head in the middle, and the faux jaws being the teeth of the trap just waiting to bite down. More of a stretch: 6. It could also be positioned upward to purposely reference & pay homage to Totodile’s pose in its official artwork 7. It could have intentionally been made to look like and reference the pop-culture skibidi toilet meme, as modern Pokémon have been known to intentionally reference meme culture now. Its helmet and arms almost seem to form a toilet with a gator head coming out of it. This would all connect as a reference to a crocodile being found in real world Paris’s sewers.

Contrary to popular belief,I agree with the premise behind this statement For example people love Skeledirge because it has such a deep concept,but idc,I don’t like its design The issue is a design’s execution being“bad”is subjective Something crazy is happening in the Pokémon community rn. Popular opinion is being taken as objective fact just because it’s what the majority thinks and feels, or has been influenced to think and feel. But the truth is, how you see a work of fantasy art or design is much more of a subjective thing. The designer thought the execution of Mega Feraligatr was good and so do I. They designer of Mega Pyroar thought the execution was good, yet I think it could’ve been better. It’s like people can’t fathom that I like genuinely love something that they hate so they are loosing their minds. I’ll respect you if you don’t like a design but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop talking about something I love? Instead, many of the extreme comments I’ve been receiving are just showing how much hate people have. (Which can be valid sometimes too but yeah no need to take it to the point of blocking or disliking the person with an opposite opinion on a Pokémon design? lol)

WHAT IF I genuinely loved a DLC Mega SO MUCH and I knew that I’d gush over it for months because of that? But since it wasn’t revealed yet, I couldn’t possibly know if the public would love it or hate it. So once it was revealed, would I still be accused of saying I love it just for engagement bait? When I could’ve never known if it would be considered bait in the first place? In fact,I’ve been praising Feraligatr for months…but apparently some think my love for it is just for engagement… …But my love is true! I swear it! 😂 And of course I want to defend it because of that too!
