Seeing a school burn down brings back painful memories of Chewoyet National School during the 2016 EURO final. The whole school was gathered watching Portugal vs France when news suddenly broke that the Meru dormitory was on fire. Everyone rushed to the scene, and what followed was chaos, confusion, and disbelief as the fire consumed everything. Later, leaders arrived, including the then senator Prof. Lonyangapuo, who addressed the school and offered support. The Ministry of Education also followed up with investigations and circulated forms asking who was behind the inferno that reduced the dormitory to ashes. The whole school stayed awake in class until morning before we were finally sent home. Some memories never really fade.
